Human beings have tried throughout history to be like Gods, and every time they have been met with disaster. We may be an intelligent species, but our brains are limited.
If we were thinking like God we would have developed technology that doesn't destroy the environment, developed ways to share and get along with each other and help one another, and we would have colonized Mars as a society already. I'd even be Captain of my own ship. But unfortunately our limited brains only have the wiring to do things quick and easy. We are really stupid in comparison.

Last time I checked I was not ready to create the universe so I don't think I or humans will ever be close to the level of God's intelligence. Since God loves us and will give us information why would you want to be any smarter than you are? People who want absolute power want knowledge but like satan they will fall.

You see, we may never be as intelligent as God.
He is our creator, and our creator knows everything. He knows what is beyond this universe, he knows what happens after you die, he knows everything. God gave humans the wisdom and intelligence to gain the knowledge to extend human life and quality.
God banished Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden because they fell into the devils trap of believing that if they eat the fruit from the forbidden tree, then they will be equal to God.
The devil was once one of God's many holy angels. But he was overcome with jealousy and pride, thinking that he could be just as great as the Lord, or even better. God banished Lucifer, and along with him, many other "fallen angels" (know known as Demons) who were seduced by the Devil.
We may never be as intelligent as God. The day will come when Jesus will arrive and take us back to Heaven to be with him for 1,000 years. All the believers are safe. However, those who are atheists, or believe in other god(s) are going to be judged and sent to hell, along with Lucifer, to be banished forever and burn in the eternal fire.

There are not many people i know who would even ask that question.
I am guessing you know very little about God and therefor will fill you in on a little secret.....
GOD IS THE REASON WE HAVE INTELLIGENCE,
GOD IS THE REASON WE ARE HERE
and
GOD HAS THE POWER TO TAKE IT ALL AWAY
Now, do you think you should really be asking this question?

I actually think we are meant to eventually merge with God. So that would make us as One, gaining all God knowledge. Obviously this is not God in a religious box, which is limited by human perceptions.

Depends on how we use knowledge. Are we using it for the destruction of human progression or the advancement of humanity? If it's the latter, then no.
Many people have the ability to gain knowledge without destroying human progression. Others are tricked into doing otherwise, etc. etc.

Wow, set your standards a little lower. First try to be smarter than a fifth grader, then move up the ladder. Don't get ahead of yourself...
