Chemical imbalances can take a few doctors and test to iron out. There is a clinic in Aurora that might be able to help you.

There is that old “Wait 10 seconds before you say anything” rule. If you can start doing that for seconds and go for longer and longer periods you’ll may get over being mad before you blow up at someone.
Another is to try to think of something clever to say when you feel upset. That gets your mind to think sideways about it.
Most of all seek peace of heart. Thru prayer if you’re so inclined would be my suggestion. There is something to be said about that whole WWJD (What Would Jesus Do?) idea.

If you want to avoid a doctor... I would start first by establishing a routine. You need to do the same things at the same times every day. Do this for 2 weeks and keep a journal of your moods, swings, and at the time of the swing what was going on. It could be as simple as needing a balanced life. I suggest waking, very small meal, work out, at least 2 more meals in th day, then bed around the same time every night. I know it sounds very boring, but to monitor any things, you must have a control.

NOTE: I speak from experience.

However, if this does not begin to help out in 2 weeks I would seek medical help. Things like this arent always mental. Could be a sign of other medical issues.

Good Luck :)

good question! i'd say it works the two techniques. while you're depressed for an prolonged time you do no longer frequently take superb care of your self and that finally ends up in undesirable weight loss plan options that would bring about an imbalance. Chemical imbalances would reason melancholy too--because of the fact the physique needs particular quantities of particular chemical compounds to maintain working correct.

I don't know why you can't get help, I have IMed you. if it is really a chemical imbalance medications are the route to go along with therapy.
1.exercise
2. journal- blog
3.read some self-help books
4 I have a link to a mood monitor form.
5. find someone who is willing to listen, and I would say go outside of your circle of friends, because it will cause less problems with them in the long run.
6. join one of the many yahoo groups that have others who have similar problems.

I understand in my own way about the mood swings and the angry over nothing part.

Hey, The Denver Metro area has a pile of Dr.s that can help.

Check-out the Community Service Numbers in your Dex Phone Book. Go down to Mental Health, in the middle of the page.

Mental Health Association of Colorado 303-377-3040
Mental Health Corporation 303-504-6500
Psychiatric Support Line 303-869-1999

Every county has a public Mental Health / Behavioral Health Office where you can be seen and treated.

You can begin by going to your family Dr. or to a hospital ER if you must. My friend is low income. She goes to Denver Health (Hospital) and they provide her antidepressants for her.

If it is a chemical imbalance (could be) then you'll probably need professional help, meds most likely. But they work great, and can really help you. Please try to find some doctor, that's your best bet.

Otherwise, try to control the anger with exercise (it helps relieve stress and tension) and meditation (it's calming and can help keep you focused). If you don't know how to meditate, you can learn online - there's lots of websites that can help. Cut down on caffeine, and other things that may alter your mood, such as alcohol. And get plenty of sleep so you won't be cranky to begin with...good luck!

Your family physician should be able to screen you for depression. If not he/she should be able to refer you to a psychiatrist or counselor.

Check out the attached website. There are doctors listed in your area on the site. If you have health insurance, check to see if you have any psychiatrists in your area.

If you are without insurance coverage, see if you can get signed for for a medicaid program or some state assistance.

Go to your regular Doctor and explain what you are feeling and going through... don't leave out the sleeping problems either! or the lack of "wanting to eat" ... make a list and be honest. It's your appointment so take charge and make the most of it... don't forget to say if your feeling panic or anxiety either... this is a huge thing! and one none of us want to admit to it... but it's part of this ball game!

Best of Luck... Make the appointment NOW!

I went to see a psychological counselor. It really helped me. It may be worth finding one or driving a little ways for you.
