We believe in a Godhead consisting only of the Father and the Son, the Holy Spirit is the power that flows thru them to accomplish their will.

Edit: beans4brains: your avatar truly describes your lack of understanding. The doctrine of the trinity is taken from paganism and is unprovable from the Bible.
Edit: Who decided that there is this set of "dotcrines" that define a Christian Church? It is an attempt of the false trinity beliving church to further discourage those who seek the truth that is taught in the Bible. The concept trinity is a false doctrine, it is not quibbling over words, it is, once again, unprovable from the scriptures. It is so unprovable that a Catholic scribe had to ADD a verse to 1 John to prove the concept. Three in one is an oil, not the Godhead.
Larina, there is a danger in depending on the KJV as the source on this particular question, please read the following:

the term "Godhead" is in reference to the Trinity. (Trinitarian Doctrine). It means the unison between Father, Son & Holy Spirit as ONE GOD, but three seperate entites or beings. They share the same nature/likeness and are seperate, yet, they are all ONE being. (it is a doctrine of Monotheism, not Polytheism; i.e., One God in three persons, NOT three seperate gods.)
There are NO Christian Churches that do not believe in the Trinitarian Doctrine. It is part of what defines a church as being of the "Christian" Religion.
There are churches that do not believe in the Trinity (Godhead) but they do not qualify as a "Christian Church" because of the Doctrines. They are not accepted by any Christian Church as a demonination, but are referred to as "pseudo-christian". (and an entirely seperate religion from that of Christianity.)
****I'm Not trying to offend anyone! I am just stating a fact.****
Those churches are:
The LDS (Mormons)
The Jehovah's Witnesses
The Unification Church (Moonies)
The Unitarian Universalist Society
The Church of Christian Science
The Unity Church (Unity School of Christianity)
The World Wide Church of God (Armstrongism)
And about 100 others.
Just because a church mentions the name of Jesus does not mean that they are a "Christian Church" or teach biblically based doctrines. There is a standard of Doctrines that determine a "Christian Church" from a "Non-Christian Chruch". To be classified as a denomination of the Christian Religion, the church must believe every doctrine that is set forth by the Chruch, not altering or straying even a little bit. Otherwise, it is therefore classifed as a seperate religion and not Christian.
The Trinitarian Doctrine, is one of those doctrines that must be held by the said Church, for it to be thusly classified as a "Christian Church."
Does that help any??

*edit* some 'churches' use the term 'godhead' but it does not mean the same thing as it does to the Christian Church. In a Christian Church, the term 'godhead' is applicable to the Trinity only.
*edit* true the word trinity is not in the bible, but the phrase was coined from the context of the texts therein that support that concept, "Set of three" or "Three in one" for everyone who wants to needlessly argue over words.

Mormons (Godhead of unity of purpose, made up of individual personages who are separate gods), any church that follows Herbert W Armstrong (the Godhead is God the Father and God the Son - the World Wide church of God is the mother and source of all the various sects that followed it, but the WWCoG is now an Evangelical Protestant Sect), holiness (or unity) pentecostals, who believe Jesus is the one true God and Father and Holy Ghost are just different names for Him. Unitarians too I guess but they don't believe in Jesus.

I know the word trinity is not in the Bible. That is a word that man uses but the idea behind "trinity" is biblical. It is in
1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Unitarian Christianity (not Unitarian Universalism, which is a separate religion) does not accept the idea of the Trinity, although Unitarians do believe in the Judeo-Christian idea of God, as well as in Jesus.
