You guys heard of the NFL football player whose home got broken into he confronted the buglars with a machete they had guns, he got shot. People keep complaining about anti-gun people having guns and this case it could have saved the homeowners life. Do you guys think he could have confronted the burglars from a much safer position had he a gun?

YES, upon hearing noise he could have used a gun to maintain a defensive position in the bed room. It is hard for 4 guys to rush you through a doorway, especially if you shoot and kill or injur the 1st one. The rest will flee knowing their life is in danger as well.

Sean Taylor did not have a legal checklist and became into legally waiting to very own firearms. The incident that he became into costs with in touch some scumbags who had stolen his sources, i'd have been pissed too.He had some misdemeanors on his checklist yet i'd decide directly to fulfill the guy who has in no way dedicated one. I agree that he could have had a firearm for risk-free practices. it extremely is absolute hogwash that 80 5% of gun ownwers have them used against you. you're lots extra secure with a gun on your place than without. study extra weapons much less Crime by using John Lott to get the data in this. It thoroughly rfutes the liberal propaganda that has been fed to us without question for years. I wish he would have had firearms and had the ablity to apply them. the international would be an more suitable place if he had wied out the 4 scumbags and were in uniform Sunday, this is hard to assert for a Cowboys fan.

No, having a gun will not save your life. Using a gun properly will save your life. Just having one may scare someone, but that may make things worse. Hitting the kill zone with each pull of the trigger will end a confrontation quickly with the best chance for your survival.

I am amazed at some of the answers. He was killed anyway so why not at least try to save his own life?

You should not have a gun in the home unless you are familiar with how to use it, have had enough practice that you can hit what you aim at, will never use it to merely frighten or intimidate, and will use it when you sincerely believe that in "gravest extreme" when you are convinced that you or a member of your family is about to be harmed or worse.

If you do, never admit that you weren't totally convinced that it was necessary because at the time, you were.

Turning around and calling the cops would have worked. A real man would have got the wife and kids to safety and used his head so he would continue to be there for his family. What ever is in the house is replaceable. Obviously you don't bring a knife to a gun fight.

Nope. Four guys, it almost was called off because one of the guys hear a noise, but the other guy said it was him. Sadly after, Sean Taylor was killed. If they guy didnt tell the other guy to go back in the house none of that would of happend.

Sadly...he should of done something from the previous break in his house a week or 2 before.

He didn't confront the intruders... they broke into his bedroom before he could do much. Having a gun might have helped, it also could have led to a wild shootout in his bedroom where his GF was as well.

I think he should have had a alarm system installed... Someone breaks into my house and a blaring horn goes off, followed by lights and a automatic call to the police. In 99.9% of cases, a audible alarm is going to frighten off any robber.

You don't take a knife to a gunfight. A machete is a knife. Who knows, a gun could have evened the odds.

Best.

I carry a gun. I think it would make a person think twice about pointing a gun at me if he/she seen a gun pointing at him/her. They would probably run while shooting and therefore I might not be hit in the process. Or may be not killed.
