No sarcastic answers please...What are your thoughts about when you take your last breath on this earth and you do not just go into the ground, but you stand before God and he judges you. Keep in mind that once you are there your choice to deny Him on earth causes Him to deny you in that situation.

Okay, but if I am incorrect about there being a God then I will have lived a moral life full of joy with nothing lost, but if you are all incorrect, then it is an eternity in hell...are you sure we just end up as word food...sure our body goes into the ground, but what about our soul and spirit?

" ... self proclaimed athiest's[sic]" what?
1. The apostrophe means there's some possession.
2. I'm an athEIst - dunno what an athIEst is.

You might wanna run yourself through spellchecker - you won't remove all doubt.
That was an in-joke.

I will be very surprised if, when I die, I get a chance to stand in front of 'god'.
1. 'He' doesn't exist.
2. I thought one breed of the story goes that unbelievers will go directly to hell without a one-on-one with 'god'.
3. If there was a heaven it's the last place I'd want to spend any time in for many reasons ... a) everyone I know and or admire would NOT be there ... b) there's no way I wanna spend time in a totalitarian regime similar to North Korea where I had NO rights ... c) I really would not enjoy spending an eternity with judgemental cowards like Xians ... etc, etc, ad infinitum.
4. The soul (another made up thingy) doesn't exist BUT if it did it would have no nervous system so therefore would NOT experience the pain y'all are threatened with if you don't suck up to the big fella.
5. I could go on but I'd only be preaching to awake people.
.

I'm not an atheist but I've a feeling you wouldn't mind including "non-believers" in on this one. Since you capitalize the word "him" I'm going to infer that you mean the Christian deity.

What if you take your last breath and you hear the sound of a horn and look, you see the clouds parting and see a beautiful rainbow bridge. You approach that bridge only to meet a large man with a sword in one hand and a horn in the other blocking your way and he says "Sorry, you picked the wrong religion. You're stuck in Hella's kingdom. It's not like your Hell, it's quiet and peaceful but no glory with the gods and goddesses for you. Sorry."?

If that happens and I see god I will asked him "What is the favorite house hold pet for people in America?" The correct answer is dog. Since dog is God spelled backwards when gods says that he will be sucked back into the 5th dimension.

P.S. I'm not being sarcastic this is what I would really do in the scenario you giving.

You have missed the point. An atheist does not believe in god therefore the question of an atheist having to "stand before god" does not arise in the mind of an atheist.

You may as well ask an atheist what will happen when he has to stand before an invisible pink elephant - they don't exist either.

It's just too bad that all these ideas about God are based on ..... ahh ..... apparently nothing. How are you making such important decisions when you don't have any of the true facts. Anyway, It has been proven that LCD screens cause men to turn gay. Something about the gamma rays. So all you fact checkers better get rid of your LCD monitors before you start wearing your mama's dresses.

Not going to happen. I am an atheist (that's "e" before "i," by the way) - there is no god (or God).

If I turned this question around, would YOU answer it? I've asked it several times over the years and Xians always avoid it, giving the exact same "answer" I just did ("not going to happen.").

You guys keep on telling us we have a choice, but you never seem to face the fact that we have MADE our choice...just as you've made YOURS.

EDIT to reply to your edit: If I turn my back on my principles "just in case," my beliefs would be empty and hypocritical. Doesn't your God require "real" belief and not just my SAYING I believe "just in case"?

You are assuming that there is a god. I believe you haven't evolved in your thinking enough to realize that all gods were made by man. When I take my last breath, I know I'll be food for the worms, and nothing more.

I'll go like: send me to hell, because if going to heaven means worshiping sadistic fools like you, i'd really rather be in hell. At least satan(at this point i presume he also exists) shows himself for what he is. God doesn't. He claims a powerful stance but yet watches as everyone under him begs him for help when they're being killed,or tortured.

Since there is no hard irrefutable evidence to either prove or disprove God's existence, and anything is possible, shouldnt Atheists at least answer the question honestly and respectfully (as a few of you have done, granted) in stead of just echoing "its not gonna happen"? Just asking..
