To be fictional one must prove that the person did not exist and you cannot do so as there are many non-Christian sources that testify to Jesus' existence (Josephus is one). Second, to say that the Bible is fiction is to do away with several thousand pieces of archaeological evidence to the contrary. As for the aspects of faith, that I am sure you will use to try and prove it to be fiction, demonstrate to me scientifically beyond any doubt that they did not occur then I might take your word for it, but you cannot...there is nothing you can disprove in the Bible...sure you can try and explain it away, but you cannot prove they did not happen. The burden is on you to prove they didn't happen, because I can prove there is always the possibility that they did and I would have more science on my side than you would. You take a lot on faith in everyday life that you just don't recognize...the chair you sit in holds you up, but do you test out the chair every time you go to sit in it to see if it will hold you up....you probably have never tested that chair that way....that is faith...believing something to be reliable and acting upon that belief....you believe that chair will hold you up and you sit in it....what a person of faith....the Bible is just the same, I don't have to see everything that it says happened to believe it, but I do know believing in it has never made me fall on my backside yet...just like no chair I have ever sat in has ever made me fall on my backside either.

No because he isn't. There is alot of SECULAR evidence that there was a man named Jesus preaching back then . Even the Jews who do not accept him as messiah and put no special significance on his teachings do not question his existence.

There is no need to question whether there was a Jesus in order to not accept his message. Insulting people religion with lies is not good either. Do you research . Jesus DID exist .

I've accepted Him as a wonderful teacher. I've also accepted Buddha as a wonderful teacher, too. I believe I have much to learn from all the religions and spiritual leaders of the world.

Am I a Christian.

Nope. I'm Pagan. :)

Scholars, even the most liberal ones, accept Jesus as a real, historical figure. There's really very little debate on this any more among educated people.

To deny the existence of the historical Jesus is to hide one's head in the sand.

Fiction.

I allow the possibility that he may have existed as a man and teacher but not as the divine son of God or as a risen savior.

No, but I used to. I have come back to the belief that he was a real person and did exist.
