Jesus himself was a liberal. In fact he was pretty radical. He worked to bring about tremendous change, he didn't compromise his ideals, he had ideas that many saw as blasphemous.

but in the US something strange has happened

Christian=Conservative=Patriotic=Supporting Bush=Having Family Values

Therefore Liberal=Godless=Immoral=Anti-US, etc

But that doesn't make any sense. Jesus was anything but conservative. He didn't come to save Americans he came to save the world. & he'd certainly not be supporting a president who started a war.

The Christian Right is so strongly anti-gay, but Jesus said to love your neighbor, not love your neighbor as long as he's not gay, and he also said that it's not our place to judge each other, so if homosexuality really is a sin, then God will judge that person when they die, it is not for us to do, here.

So basically Jesus taught indiscriminate love, non-judmentalness and peace... meanwhile conservative "christians" seem to be doing the opposite

I agree with you whole-heartedly. What happened is we let conservative hate mongers like Pat Robinson and Jerry Falwell start spouting off a bunch of crap and then tagging the word "Christianity" to it. They painted liberals as Godless, sinful, hedonistic perverts who wanted to turn your kids gay and get them hooked on drugs. It's sad and disgusting. How God's unconditional love, grace and mercy has been bastardized into hatred, intolerance and indifference is surely heart-breaking.

Don't listen to them and don't let them "screwtape" you into believing that they speak anything but the truth. I'm reminded of when John the Baptist spoke to the religious leaders of his time and called them a "brood of vipers." John the Baptist hadn't seen anything yet! The hypocrites and liars of todays "Christian" generation would have him speechless!

Please, don't judge all Christians by the acts of a few. You have not said anything with which I can disagree. If homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord, then certainly, murder and rape is as well. But as we have always known, God forgives sin. In fact He already has. To appropriate that forgiveness, all one must do is ask. Don't follow the lead of other Christians, follow the lead of Jesus, and you will not go wrong.

Are the words Catholic and Christian oxymorons? No. Why do you compromise or disagree? because of the fact they are words that at the instant are not opposite to a minimum of one yet another. Christian is an oem call to describe followers of Christ, and Catholic ability commonplace. they do no longer inevitably have something to do with one yet another. for occasion i ought to call myself a Bisexual Christian, and usually do. Bisexuality would not ward off the meant results of salvation because of way the covenant is desperate. Salvation is by making use of faith in Christ, and Bisexuality is purely information of why i desire salvation. BQ Are the words gay and Christian oxymorons? Why or why no longer? No. because of the fact gay to me is purely yet another information as to the character of sin, and Christian shows a manner of being saved that would not call for self-attempt for perfection. An occasion of an oxymoron having to do with Christians is to call somebody a saved person (Christian) by making use of legalistic works (Perfectionist). There won't be able to be this style of ingredient with reference to the salvation Christ presented. BQ Agree or disagree- maximum religions are purely the outcomes of brainwashing? I agree. BQ3 YOUR faith is the only genuine faith? Why so? God is the only genuine thank you to eternal existence of peace. you're able to do what you like with that be conscious "faith".

how true that is! I'm sick of the religious "wrong" as I put it. Because they are so wrong in their beliefs. My grandma is one of them and it saddens me to hear her rehetoric about being gay or lesbian because Im a christian lesbian and yes you can be gay and christian!
