Do you floss often? It may be gingivitis or periodonis, however you spell it. Sometimes if your teeth are very close together it is imperative that you floss often. Check with your local oral pimp.

Googie...where do you get your info? Trenchmouth (that's the slang term...it's called Necrotizing Ulcerative Gingivitis or NUG) is NOT from unsanitary silverware, it's from bacteria. And a little bleeding and stinging gums does not equal NUG!! It sounds like gingivitis. You need to see a dental hygienist for a cleaning because something is irritating your gums. In the meantime, continue brushing (gently) and flossing, if you're not already.

Go to the dentist and get your gums checked. But in the mean time to help heal your gums and make it so that it isnt so painful to brush, use Peroxyl. Its a mint flavored peroxide solution that is made for mouth sores.

Best to get examined by a dentist to determine the problem. Perhaps it is an infection like trenchmouth which comes from unsanitary plates or silverware. He should be able to treat you and if it is more serious, he will refer you elsewhere.
