Christians believe atheists are taking the easy way out by not believing in God while atheists believe Christians are taking the easy way out by believing in the supernatural? Is this the cause of elitism on both sides?

Jackie: Don't be ignorant. I've seen people say these exact ideas so many times here on R&S that it's not even funny.

That's a generalization... I'm an atheist and I believe the Christians take the hard way. When you are Christian and therefore believe in God, most people have to go to church, conformation, be baptized, Communion, pray, and say grace at almost every meal. And I am not being an elitist, I'm just observing the downsides of Christianity.

I would venture the thought that it is all due to typical mentality of Christian Clergy. Religion is a profession to them and to
critically examine the religious beliefs of others their coveted job.

This is not the way of holy prophets. God sent prophets in every age and every country. They followed their religion faithfully and became so pious that people saw the difference between them and non belivers or believers of a different faith. So they were convinced, without being convinced.

The clergy believes in proselytisation and lip service to religion. A True religion will make its place in peoples heart.
For example, Turkish soldiers went to Vietnam along with Nato forces. Where soldiers from other countries kidnapped and assaulted Vietnamese girls, Turks protected them and returned them to their parents. Soon the Vietnamese realized that they were different because they were Muslims. Not a single Vietnamese knew what Islam was. But seeing the good behaviour of Turks thousands of Vietnamese became Muslim. The island of Maldives is 100% Muslim, because they were impressed by business ethics of the Arab trders.

If every believers lives a good religious life without offending the feelings of other religions, people would certainly be attracted towards the better religion. I wish the
professional religious people knew this simple fact.

I dont believe that anyone is taking the easy way out, except for those who are agnostic. THEY can't decide. At least Christians and atheists can stand by their own decisions! from both points of view, everyone is taking the path that other people consider easy.

I don't think Christians believe atheists are taking the easy way out not to believe in God. They think atheists are fools not believing in God.

Yes. The thing is that Christians use fallacies while we have good reasons.

I don't consider atheism easy at all, but it gives answers. The answers it gives I don't like but I think they're real. Christianity is easy and gives answers but they don't fit well with reality.

A lot of Christians have a very distorted view of atheism but I think most atheists understand Christianity pretty well. At least as well as a religion with 2,000,000,000 followers and thousands of denominations can be understood.

As an atheist [a-theist] I simply take responsibility for my actions. I do not need to place the blame or have the need to to admire and worship anything that is of the mind of some church dogma. I do not need to pray for someone to intervene in my decisions. I make decisions and rely upon myself to make the right decisions, if they are wrong then it is totally my fault.

It is not about taking the easy way out. We all have to own up for what we do and take responsibility. Your question does not go beyond a surface intellect.

A painful tortuous reasoning. Do you see life itself an easy way out whatever you believe in?

I don't find any of it funny. One should never impose ones view on this subject upon another. Or make judgments. It is a useless enterprise to attempt it and only serves to "muddy the water".
