Take the cost of the dog you want to purchase and divide that by 15. That is how many weeks it will take to save up to buy JUST the dog. Dogs require a bit of money to start out. You would need to buy all of the supplies, you need to buy food monthly, and have you thought about vet bills? I would wait until you are financially more stable before you purchase a dog. And when you do get one... go to the shelter. You can get a dog that has had all of its shots and had already been spayed or neutered. While I would love for everyone that wants a dog to have one... they do take money. You don't have to be rich, but accidents happen... you need to be able to afford a vet. Routine vet care is expensive enough. Good luck, but hold off on getting a dog.

Thats a mathematical question! Ever heard of a calculator? Are you just asking about the purchase price? Or will $600 or $700 cover all the things a dog needs, like food and toys and shelter? How old are you anyway? I'm sorry but it sounds like you just can't afford a dog.

Divide 700 by 15 and it will give you the weeks.

it will be 40 weeks for a dog that costs $600
and
it will be 46.66 weeks for a dog that costs $700
what kind of dog are you looking for anyway? a registered dog? that will be more expensive in the long run, a mix dog will be less expensive than a purebreed dog. i've got 3 dogs all together, and the cost about $300 per month total. I live in AR adn people are always trying to sell dogs around the walmart for usually less than $350, most of them being free, you might want to check that out. i really hopes this helps you!!!!!

47 weeks.
But don't forget you also need to save up for routine vet care, spay/neuter, bowls, crate, training classes, have some money put away in case of emergency, toys etc.
