If you get a single cd player, can you still scratch? Because I read somewhere that you need two turntables to scratch, just wondering if this is the same for CD players like http://www.guitarcenter.com/Stanton-C-314-Single-CD---MP3-Player-103723904-i1166642.gc

Ok, now I know what I want/need. I need something that I can plug an outside media source (ex: ipod (mostlikely), flash drive, etc.) and play the music from there. This is fairly cheap http://www.guitarcenter.com/Numark-iDJ-Mixing-Console-for-iPod-103389516-i1156129.gc but has anyone had any experience with it. There's also the second one but people have said that it has a high rate of crashing. (I have no money for that.)
Numark Total Control DJ Software Controller looks good too, but it plugs into a laptop, which I don't have.
NOTE: I am not becoming an 'intense' DJ. I just need something that I can use at friend's parties and such. I am looking to spend up to 500.

Yes, some more details. If you ever find or know of a mixer that you can plug outside media sources into it and play from there. So now, it's not about 'scratching', just mixing.
