All MOS's (Military Occupation Specialty) in the Marines are trained first as fighting soldiers and any can and are called on to fill vacancies in operational fighting units. It does not matter what MOS you are, Pilot, cook, cop, or infantry you are a trained fighter first and always. They are the only military force in the USA that is run that way.

Intelligence do see combat because no matter what field you are in, you will always have to go through the bootcamp training for combat. That's because combat can happen on ANY field that you are in, basically. I was planning to go into the Marines as Intelligence too, so good choice. =]

Yes AND No. "Intelligence" isn't pigeon-holed into a specific function like you might think. An "intelligence" person may sit in the US and monitor your phone conversations to ensure you aren't giving away too much information on upcoming missions, OR they may be embedded with the Yemen Army and have fluent local language skills to help collect information and channel it back through the CIA because we think Osama is hiding there. "Intelligence" is a VERY broad field, so it's impossible to say definitively that a Marine trained in Intelligence WILL or WILL NOT see combat.

Yes of course, there aren't any non-combatant MOS in the Marine Corps.
