It would be confusing if they were both "Dad" or both "Mom" but calling them by their first names would not be affectionate enough.

it would work to call them mom/dad to their face
and why not mom/dad followed by first name when it might be confusing
thats how you call your grandma/pa since you have more than one of each

calling them both 'mom' or 'dad' would be fine. i guess it would only seem weird to people other than the kid but then again, those people dont matter. im not for gay lifestyle but i would promote bans on it and plus, there are enough kids in this world that need help...and if a gay couple wants to adopt a kid and help them then that is certainly a good thing for everyone...

The answer is simpler than you might expect.

If one of the persons is biologically related to the child, that parent becomes Mom or Dad, and the other parent becomes mother or father.

If the child is adopted the parent usually usually allows the child to call him/her by a familiar name unless the child wants to call him/her mom or dad.

As far as the school is concerned it is either father or mother for both parents and that is that.

It is strangely a none issue once the family is created.

mom and mom, dad and dad. Some if they have a biological parent of the 2, will call them ex. "mom" and "kathy", or "dad and joe. If it was adopted, then i would think it would be 2 moms or 2 dads, it wouldnt be confusing for them, i dont think, because it would be normal in the household.

i would agree w. the girl that said calling them mom(first name) or dad(first name). although this has nothing to do with gay couples, my boyfriends daughter calls me mommy cari since im not her biological mother.

they would call them mom/mom or dad/dad

it wouldn't be any different. i think they way some kids do it is call them "mom (first name)"

like if a couple named: kelly and rebecca had a child, the kids would call them mommy kelly and mommy rebecca.
