I don't think it's possible to control your dreams. It's like focusing on the way you go to bed: laying on right side, curled up; and seeing where you are when you wake up, it's really hard to remember. (Try It).
The best advice is not to count sheep, but just relax, think of something sweet and wonderful . . . . . and float off on a cloud.
By the way do you get annoyed when you are having a great dream, and the alarm goes off or someone wakes you up and suddenly, no matter how hard you try you can't remember what you dreamt about!
Yet when you have a scary, bad dream it stays in your memory for the longest time.

I depends on what the dreams are about and sometimes even depends on diet. Over active imaginations can contribute to certain types of dreams and even personality types contribute to certain types of dreaming. If you are looking for ways to influence outcomes in dreams then try attempting to wake yourself up during a dream and then return to sleep attempting to continue the dream. It takes practice and works at times but not always. Dreams can be an extention of our sensual desires, our physical fears, and even life aspirations. If you feel out of control in dreams then it is possible that something in our life is out of control. If you feel like you are flying then you are probably on top of life's game right now. If you are falling then most likely there are things in life where think you have failed and the consequence is a no win situation emotionally. The question is a little vague for a particular answer. But I hope it helps.

When you dream you only dream of things you have been thinking about in the past 24 hours. I don't dream alot but people that dream heaps dream of things they've been thinking about that day. Try thinking about good things all day and focus on one thing you want to dream about a lot. I know you may not be a Christian but if you're having bad dreams you could pray. I went through a phase of having very bad dreams and waking up every couple of hours crying and then I tried praying and I haven't had a bad dream since then. That was about a year ago. Just try praying once and see the difference.

Meditate before you sleep every night. It sometimes helps. Dreams are your thoughts and experiences of the day, week, or whenever that are stuck in your subconscious that emerge in sleep. So I don't think there is any REAL way. But I've been able to, at least, I believe I've been able to, control what happens, by some limitations, in my dreams. Do something different during the day, keep certain thoughts in your head, and like I said, meditate...

I really do not think that is possible sweetie. However, if you go to bed thinking about something, the odds of dreaming about it will go up. Here is what does work, though it does not have to do with dreams. If you have a problem in your life, or a tough decision to make? Go to sleep thinking about it, and your brain will work on it in your sleep. In the morning you will wake up with answers to your questions. Give it about 15 minutes after you wake up though. Just wake up, and go about your morning, the answers usually show up by shower time babe. The dreams are total subconscious thoughts, you cannot control them.

I read in a book that everynight bfore bed stare at your hand and tell yourself, "when i see my hands i will becom consious". It may not work that night but eventually you will gain control and when you are dreaming you will see you hands and know you are in a dream. Although when I had a controled dream I tried poofing up a jump house and it didn't work!! :( But I knew I was asleep

p.s I know I might have some spelling error...

What you want is called "lucid dreaming". Suggest you try to remember to look at your hands in the dream. If you can look at your hands in whatever dream you are in you will have reached a level of consciousness sufficient to be an active participant in a dream, as opposed to the autopilot you have now.

Read lucid dreaming books...found at your local library.

After a good meditation, I got lucid in a dream and was amazed how fast I could imagine a whole story plot, shots, camera angles and everything else all at once that went into making a dream. It was really interesting.

It can be done. I used to have horrible dreams of the usual kind and basically told myself (and you do this before you fall asleep) that you are in control and can defeat anything in your dreams. Somehow it worked.
