Personally, I wouldn't book anything earlier than Noon. If you get in sooner, you can always ask at the ticket counter if they'll "bump" you to an earlier flight.

There are sometimes delays in ships getting into port, or customs delays, etc.

BTW - If you want to browse a lot of info about cruising, you can go to CruiseCritic.com, "Boards" and find a ton of info.

Have a great cruise!

11 am at the earliest to be completely safe if you have non refundable ticket or a ticket that has fare change panalties associated with it. if you have fully changable ticket / or fully refundable type , then you can book a 10 am ticket. The ship can take a while to clear customs. It also has to do with how many other ships are in port that day too. Some sailings get through it right away and other ones it can be 11 am before the first group of passengers gets off. do the carry your own baggage at disembarkation. traffic is another thing that can vary a lot in miami. i hope this helps.

Push your flight as far back as you can. The boat may get into dock at 7AM but it will take hours to get it cleared for departure and to pass through customs. If you must fly before noon be sure to let the cruise line know and remind them the night before debarking. They will get you off the ship as soon as possible, but just remember they have no control over customs.

I would say 9 to 10 am. as long as the ship is on time. It will take about 45 minutes for the ship to dock, and you leave the ship. At that time of day 30 to 40 minutes to get to airport. I have traveled this route a couple of times from Miami. Have fun!! I had a great time!!

If you book your flight for 10 am or later you should be fine. Just make sure that you ask the cruise ship staff to be one of the first people off the ship. You also might want to consider taking your baggage off yourself.

Assuming the boat clears customs you could make it there for a 10a flight, but I have been on ships that didnt clear until after 11a. I wont usually book a flight until 1p at the earliest.

Never ever ever book a flight home before noon. Especially when your ship docks in Port Canaveral and the airport is over an hour away in Orlando. Even if the published expected docking time is 7 am, there is no guarantee that the ship will be docked by that time, and even if it is, the ship must be cleared by Immigration first before anyone is allowed to get off. All it takes is one foreign passenger not showing up when they're supposed to, despite repeated pages, and the whole ship waits. People are assigned groups for debarking. IF you are capable of carring ALL of our own luggage off the ship WITHOUT any staff assistance, you may qualify for self-debarking, which will get you off the ship more quickly. But you still have to find transportation, go an hour or so to Orlando, and still have enough time to check in and get through security. You really do not want to spend the last day of your vacation rushing and worrying that you're going to miss your plane. Book an afternoon flight.
