Specifically in what to look for? Someone has abandoned their pet cat in the apartment complex I live in, and she snuck into mine when I opened the door.

I can't keep her :(

If I did I'd have to spend a large amount of money according to the terms of my lease, or I'd have violated it and have 3 days to move. I'm already filing bankruptcy and I have nothing left. I couldn't afford cat food let alone the vet bills, but I cant just let her die outside.

Im, looking into no kill shelters but I have no experience with them, and I'm uncertain what to look for. Some of those places are pretty bad off. I'm living in central Ohio if it helps.

Try "Forgotten 4 Paws". They are an excellent "no kill" animal group in central Ohio. They have no shelter, but they do find foster homes for the cats and display them on their website, petfinder, and at Petsmart stores until a home is found.

I asked about a cat I was unable to adopt, but totally loved her, and they said they will keep a cat as long as they have to until a "forever" home is found.

The Knox County Humane Society has a cat shelter in Mr. Vernon, Ohio on the old Columbus Road. You might call them to see if they can take her.

It will depend on the current situation at the shelter. Most shelters strive to be "no kill" and it can just depend on the space available and how they assess the cat's adoptability.

Call your local vets, get the phone book and call one after the other asking if they know of any no kill shelters or foster homes for cats. Also ask if you can bring her in for them (the vet clinic) to find her a home, some vets do this occasionally.

Just ask them "Are you a no kill shelter"? You can also search "no kill animal shelter (area where you live)".
