3 months? How did THAT happen?
I wouldn't know. Beer doesn't last long in this house :D
I'm kidding. I don't think it would kill you.
I've drank expired beer. I don't how long it was expired, but
it was fine.
I don't know about homemade brew though.

The only dates I've seen on beer are Born On Date, not expire

Any beer that carries a date is likely to be second-rate to start with. "Expired" beer is probably going to be no worse. A good beer will improve with age, up to a point.

Mass-produced beers can develop 'off' flavors over time [especially in screw-top bottles], but the alcohol prevents pathogens from growing, so unless it tastes horrid, it's not going to make you ill.

If it has been protected from light and heat, the idea of an expiration is mostly moot.

Some varieties [eg. barley wine] aren't considered 'done' until they've aged substantially [as much as 10 YEARS], but these generally have tons of hops [which acts as a preservative].

I didn't know beer expired. What a shame to not drink it before it went bad. Shame on you! Drink it as your punishment for letting it go bad!

there is no reason why you cannot drink this beer. it might appear cloudy but this will NOT affect the safety but merely the taste of the beer. some beers age really well and i have personally consumed one that was 5 years past its brewed date (belgian monk beer) and it was great. if it is bud or something mass marketed it is pasteurized and will have the added protection from spoilage.

i would like you to drink it and then tell us later what it did to you, remember to quote "can i drink 3 months expired beer" so we will remember that it is you.

Yes, you can drink sulphuric acid also, your question should be "is it safe" to drink 3 months expired beer, the answer is yes.

Depends on the quality. Widmer is average quality, it won't be very good once expired.
