If you run your life by the Bible, be my guest; do NOT, however, tell other people how to run their lives based on what it says in the Bible. Not everyone's Christian, you know.

Uh, Rev. Albert Einstein, how about this: not everybody believes in god and certainly not everyone believes in your Christian god so stop generalizing; instead of saying, "should we believe you or God," you should say, "should I believe you or God." And I have thought about it, thank you.

carolinagcock007, believe me, some of you do force. Maybe you specifically don't, but many do, and this question is directed towards them.

Alright, Reverend, nice job telling us that we are going to hell if we don't believe the Bible. I would love to be in the religion studying under you. YOU'RE SUCH A GREAT ROLE MODEL.

So, deanr610, you are saying someone who knocks on your door and refuses to leave until the cops come is "simply expressing their opinions?"

ALRIGHT, susandiane311, HERE'S A SPECIFIC EXAMPLE: WHEN rev. Albert Einstein SAYS WHOEVER DOES NOT OBEY THE BIBLE WILL GO TO HELL. Is this example specific enough for you?

If you do not want to be preached to, then why do you ask for it?

I'm a Christian but do not quote 'live' my life by the Bible. Meaning every time there is a decision to be made out comes scripture to see what I should do. God gives us a free will and mind and intended for us to use them. The Bible is a guide for life, an explanation on why we are here, what things are to be most important, and where we are headed.
And I agree with those who expressed that they do not force religion on anybody. It is way to valuable. People should be knocking down doors to hear what some of us have to say.

many people enjoy studying and learning the promises that are set forth in the Bible. Force may not be the word to use, perhaps "share" is a lighter more appropriate word to use. God did give all of us free will and its totally your choice to live how you want to. All you have to do if you feel you are being forced is just say, no thanks, i'm not interested.
(2 Corinthians 9:6-7) . . .But as to this, he that sows sparingly will also reap sparingly; and he that sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
(1 Peter 5:2) . . .Shepherd the flock of God in YOUR care, not under compulsion, but willingly; neither for love of dishonest gain, but eagerly. . .
(Philemon 14) . . .But without your consent I do not want to do anything, so that your good act may be, not as under compulsion, but of your own free will.
Living by the Bible is not easy, but those who wish to can at least try and implement peaceful qualities.
(Galatians 5:22-26) . 22 On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Hmm, the Bible says not to murder, not to steal, not to commit adultery, not to bear false witness against your neighbor, to honor your parents, etc. Many of our laws parallel the ten commandments to make it possible to live in a reasonably civilized environment Do you also believe that society shouldn't "force" those values on you?
The Bible also calls for us to love our neighbor as ourselves and do onto others as we would have them to do onto us. Many Christians, I admit, fall short of following those teachings but they are universal ideals shared by many faiths
I noticed that almost everyone who complains about people forcing the Bible on them never gives any specific examples. .

I agree with your statement that "not everyone is a Christian." I also agree that bible based beliefs should never be forced upon anyone. But the bible commands people who are Christians to love their neighbor as themselves. So therefore out of love we as Christians share bible truths to help ones gain that wonderful personal relationship with Jehovah through his son Jesus Christ.

Anyone that says they live by the Bible has probably not actually read the Bible every in and out of it. They probably just listen to everything the pastor says and go to church every Sunday so they THINK they live their life by the Bible.
Seriously, there is some versuses in there that I know people do not do in this life.

Not even God forces you to live by the Bible.
Think of us as simply expressing our opinions like the rest of the world.

Then don't force your atheist religion on me. Quite trying to take God from the public. Quit trying to run our lives. Everyone has a right to a Bible and you don't have the right to take it away from them.

Anyone trying to force their beliefs on you is not "living by the Bible".
In America, everyone is free to believe as they wish, and to act upon their beliefs. We call that "democracy"...government BY the people, etc....
It is not wrong for Christians to vote for the laws and policies that they believe in, any more than it is for anyone else.
I'm sure that when you go to the polls, you vote according to your beliefs. And you have every right to do so.
The fact that you don't agree with them doesn't make them wrong...

People live by the Bible because it tells them how to act in situations. They encourage other people to live by it but they don't force it on them like Muslims force Q'uran on other people in the Middle east.
