What would you do if, in your country, somehow someone who was VERY anti-religion came into power, and they decided to implement these rules:
1. All children of religious parents are to be taken away.
2. All religious people are to be tested for mental instability and then locked away in an "internment camp."

What would you do? Would you join the leader, or would you join the resistance?

I'm asking, if anyone's interested, because a similar question was just asked, only using an "anti-atheist" president instead.

I see enough questions about "banning religion" on here. How far would you be willing to see that one go?

This situation would likewise prompt me to bear arms.

Freedom of religion must allow people to practice any or no religion, freely. Period.

I'd not comply. If I had children at the time, I get them safe somewhere. Then, if necessary, I'd be locked away in an internment camp. If my children were too young to have made a strong commitment to Christ, they would stay with me. I couldn't stand losing even one of them for eternity. If there would be some old enough to have made that commitment to Him and able to lead others to Him, I'd get them as safe as possible. It is easier for teens or older children to escape than a whole family unit. It would be hard, but that's what I'd have to do. On the other hand, if it would happen before I had my own children, I would be the first to be tested and locked up if necessary. In all cases, I'd never stop praying and never lose faith in God.

I'm an atheist and I would fight along side my religious brothers and sisters.
Why?
Because this ruler's edict is a breach of the 1st amendment. The government shall make no law restricting the free exercise of religion.
Just because I don't believe doesn't give me or anyone else the right to suppress what other people want to believe as long as the belief system does not infringe on life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I'm an atheist, and have no love for religion. But I do have great love for freedom, and I would never support any such thing.

I would hope against hope that if a person like that took power in America, both the atheists and theists of this country would band together to fight them, and I would gladly be a part of that.

In the United States of America, providing that the Constitution remains the "law of the land', then neither situation could occur. But, to address your theoretical question: I would oppose, at least philosophically, a tyrant of either persuasion who was intent upon forcing his/her beliefs or nonbeliefs upon the populace in a threatening and cruel way. I am agnostic, nonreligious, and antagonistic toward organized religion; however, the Constitution protects everyone's right to worship or not as they wish, and any attempt to abridge those rights would be Unconstitutional, but additionally, what you are suggesting that such a totalitarian dictator might do would be cruel and could not be condoned by any sane person!

i'd in the present day touch the government of the rustic wherein they are hiding and insist that their forces circulate on the construction interior of a given time-physique, in any different case i'd carry them accountable (withhold help or help or regardless of). If the terrorists nevertheless controlled to flee the construction i'd do 2 issues: a million) artwork with the distant places government to song them down and/or take the mandatory steps to end them from leaving that usa (whether it meant sending in our forces); 2) take the mandatory steps, given our CIA intelligence, to foil their plans to attack our city and to coach our people in case of disaster. i does not bomb the construction for 2 motives: a million) think of if the construction have been in usa and another usa bombed it as a results of their intelligence. which would be construed as an act of conflict and bring about enormous subject. 2) What if the CIA intelligence became into not precise. Yikes!

That very well could come to pass if Oboma is elected president. He is a Muslim. Oboma has said on national television, that if he is elected he will NOT take the oath on the Bible, but the Koran only.
Allegedly the USA is fighting against terrorism......But here we have Osoma...whoops! I mean Oboma- running for presidency, backed by those who think religion and politics are separate; but in actuality are one in the same.
Wake up America!!!!!
Hitler was religious. He was a Catholic who was praised by the papacy. After Hitler died, the Catholic Church stated Hitler died in the name of Christianity.
Many of you people think because of the Religion Amendment(some call it the freedom of speech) we are protected...not so again...look at what happened in Waco, Texas with David Karesh and his flock...they were murdered by the American government for their religious beliefs. All the world watched the front of the building while Janet Reno and the FBI shot, poisoned, set fire to the back of the building while murdering a group of people for their religious beliefs. The only news aired was FBI sensationalism propaganda, geared to make people think the Davidikins were sick, demented people....Finally the truth has been told by all the video tapes and the US Courts. Just two weeks ago on Court TV they aired the murder trial of Janet Reno and other FBI agents. The truth was horrendous. Tho they were found guilty, they served no time.
People, all I have said is the truth. And all of it can be found, written, or video taped if you research it yourself as I have done. It is up to YOU to find the truth.

Believe it or not Germany has already started to ban a religion and here in the US they are starting to tax certain churches... In Revelations it states that one day if you do not have the mark of the beast 666 you won't be able to buy anything, so your thoughts are not hypothetical!

As a pacifist I would not fight or take up arms but I what I would do is become part of an underground railroad like that which occurred in the years before the Civil War.

Would be a violation of the constitution to do that in the USA.

But, our constitution has been violated so many times by so many presidents that it has become an accepted practice. Abraham Lincoln, often called our greatest president, violated the constitution no less than 7 times before his death. Too many others to name them all, but religious or not, I would have to fight for the rights of people to believe the way they prefer. I may not agree with the opinions and beliefs of many groups, but I will fight to the death to protect their right to those opinions and beliefs.

I would be a resistance fighter to the death. Although I've encountered many in my life that do not afford me the same courtesy, I believe that anyone has a right to whatever beliefs (or non-belief) that they want.

I am Pagan, very religious/spiritual/insert your favorite descriptive word here, and I will forever defend the rights of my Christian brothers and sisters, my Sikh brothers and sisters, my atheist, agnostic, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, and all of my brothes and sisters to have their own beliefs and not be able to force them on anyone else.
