I'm having conflicting thoughts. I have a serious crush on a guy. It is so serious that even talking to him is a task that scares me to tears (although I try). So as a (n unintentional) dare, a friend tells him that I like him. He says that he's not looking but he'll "keep me in mind". There's a part of me that believes him, and then there's the other part that's like "it means that you have no chance in hell".

Is this one typical hidden message of a guy that means "You stand no chance", or is it not one whatsoever? Guys, have you ever used this on a girl before? Like I said, I'm leaning towards the positive. And yes, I'd ask him myself if I didn't go all socially inept in his presence.

Well, the good news is that now you're on his "radar," so to speak.

Now, I'd advise that you hang back. We always want what's hard to get. Someone who seems easy is not appealing. Be friendly and pretend you don't know what your friend said, but also let him see that you're friendly with other guys. Make a point to talk to other guys! He needs to think you're in-demand to be interested in you.

He'll keep you in mind? Sounds like he is an ***. He could have simply said " no I'm not looking" and thats it. But what was the last part supposed to mean? Seems like he's an *** once again. Obviously guy doesnt really like you, at least not as of yet. So just move on. Yeah it will be hard since he is a crush. But think of him as just that, a crush. Crushes come and go.

If he just got out of a bad relationship he may not be looking right now. He could be having troubles at home and is not able to focus on a relationship right now. There could be all sorts of reasons he said that. In the mean time, you need to come out of your shell. BE BRAVE. Noone gets anywhere in life by saying they can't do something. Don't live in regrets. Your going to be older before you know it. Never live with regrets that you should of done. Find your courage.

Great movie "Tao of Steve" delves into the psychie of guys and is based on three simple rules.

1. Eliminate your desires.
2. Do something excellent in her presence, thereby proving your sexual worthiness.
3. Retreat, for as Heidegger said, "We pursue that which retreats from us".

Therefore no guy is going to say I like you, that is unless he is a Stu(movie reference)

Every guy wants to impress a girl, therefore play into this if he likes to play pool ask him to play and let him win.

Lastly, we pursue which retreats from us. Ever seen a cat chase a mouse, that isn't trying to get away. No, because it isn't any fun.

well i don't think that's a secret message at all. i think hes being sincere and he is considering you or will be considering you when hes looking for a girlfriend. to increase chances of being with him in the future id say try to be friends with him (it may be hard but you must). try talking to him with your friends there and you are comfortable with your surroundings. i personally cant concentrate on people in loud places.

Hi there.
First of all, be sincere and approach him with or without your friends. Then talk as if you're just friends Coach him to answer your doubts. Some guys are just so selfish that they waste time and your attention.

It depends on what kind of person he is. Also, if someone went up to you saying that a certain someone liked you, would you be all like "I like him too!" or would you be like "whatever". The only way to know for sure is to ask him yourself. Good luck!

A real man would have answered in a yes or no comment, not "i will keep you in mind." Most likely he is not interested from his comment. If he was interested he would have made a move.

If your shy and quiet then being yourself will not work. Be a little mischevious, outgoing even. Typical guy: you never truly know how they're feeling.

No hidden message. He's not interested.
And be careful putting yourself out there, he may decide to use you if you appear desperate and willing.
