With the overwhelming evidence of global warming, there remains many out there for whatever reason, be it uninformed, selfishness, or whatever reason, who refuse to accept the fact that the earth is warming thereby threatening the ecosystems and global economy of the planet. Sooner or later they are going to have to fall in line and live greener.
How do you think this will be done?

curtisports2- You asked why is it now any different? It's different now due to the rate of change that we are experiencing. Evolution and adaptation cannot keep up with change happening this quickly. Our economy is set up to support 6.5 billion people within an extremely narrow global temperature variation. You go outside of that range by just a few degrees and millions become threatened.

We just need to keep pointing out that they can't explain the scientific data:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgCxBALgHOtjhactMX_WFDjsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071215102828AAxyWW6
They can only remain in denial for so long in the face of this clear scientific evidence that they're wrong.
Their numbers are already dwindling. On average, 90% of each country's population agrees that climate change is a serious problem (though it's only 76% in the denial-rich USA)
http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/articles/home_page/187.php?nid=&id=&pnt=187&lb=hmpg1
The Republican Party used to be a bastion for global warming denial. Now the top 4 Republican presidential candidates all acknowledge the scientific reality of the situation, because the majority of Republican voters do.
We just need to keep making scientific arguments, and the number of deniers will continue to dwindle. Before long their numbers will become so small as to be completely irrelevant.

You ask what to do about those deniers? Well here is a novel Idea, how about actually listening to what they are saying, read what they are writing. If you actually look at ALL the available data not just specially massaged and specially presented but at ALL of the data, you will soon see that the proponents of man made global warming are deliberately not telling you the whole story.
Learn some key things like the current measurements are being made by far more sensitive instruments than in the past which makes actually proving a half of degree difference nearly impossible. See how the now famous "hockey stick" chart of increase has been deliberately misrepresented to you. That is only shows a tiny part of a naturally oscillating cycle rather than an actual drastic swing in temperature.
See how data that did not support the GW theory was simply omitted. Learn how useless computer modeling really is as a tool for predicting weather patterns or temperatures from the actual people who write the programs. Learn the difference between a projection and a prediction.
Discover why not only were the predictions of the number of hurricanes and named storms over-estimated but that six of the named storms did not really reach the level of severity to achieve naming status but were named nonetheless.
You and many people who believe that the science supports the claim that man is causing global warming, who accept that no serious scientist disagrees or that the work has been properly peer reviewed, need to realize you are being lied to.
This is nothing new. It has been done before by the same type of people. People who rely on government grants in order to continue their research. The flow of Federal Dollars has corrupted some in the scientific research community . They compete for these dollars. So, unless they can come up with some impending major disaster, the money will dry up. So they now manufacture doomsday scenarios.
You need to look at both sides objectively. Get your data directly from both sides. Not through some agenda driven website. I attached a link. Near the bottom of the page are a whole load of links from scientist that disagree with the assumptions of man made Global Warming. Please check it out at your convenience.
Merry Christmas!

If this is a natural process, which I believe it to be, then moan and groan all you like. You won't change a thing.
On the other hand, cleanup is a good thing for known HEALTH hazards caused by pollution. So I'm actually a recycler and we use biodegradable stuff. But not because of global warming. Instead, we do our bit because of limited resources and known health hazards.
Yes, global warming is real. But global warming and cooling have occurred over long periods of history - evidence being tree-ring studies and fossil studies. Plus some recorded history from the Dark Ages, which had a mini-ice-age. We have to cope with Mother Nature best as we can.
But it is even possible that by misdirecting attention, the camp of "pollution causes global warming" will cause MORE people to die because we didn't address the problem correctly for too long a time. Or is the "global warming via pollution" crowd to arrogant to consider that they might be wrong?

Obviously deadly force is going to be necessary to get these people conform. We simply can't afford the risk of allowing a few people to live, in liberty, pursuing their own happiness.
There is simply too much at risk to allow that.
Sadly some of them are going to have to be killed so the others will fall into line. I think Pol Pot had it right. Round up the people in the cities and force march them into the country side where people can live low energy, sustainable and more primitive lifestyles.
I'm a little concerned that we might be wrong. After all the earth has been warmer as recently as 1000 years ago when the Vikings settled in Greenland. And the earth has been cooling down for the last 4 years.
If we are wrong how will reparations be made to those harmed by policies designed to prevent global warming. Who will pay these reparations?

Why isn't life extinct from all the countless other times the earth has warmed - and reversed into ice ages? Why is now any different? Because there's a lot of money and power to be gained by convincing the ignorant masses with fear mongering.
Al Gore and his ilk are charlatans, and will someday be exposed as such, when all of their dire predictions of cataclysmic destruction never happen.
If it makes you feel better about yourself to call me a denier, so be it.

Just agree with them, that global warming isn't real, and suggest that we reduce emissions that are harmful to the environment just for kicks and grins.

I don't know if there is anything that can be done except to continue to educate and point out the truth. We need to vote more in the US. Also, we all must consume less and do our best to be examples to others. We cannot complain about the issues if we are unwilling to live more modestly and share what we know.

How much do 25 million illegal aliens contribute to the pollution and carbon footprint of the USA? Will anyone complain about that? Are we serious about this environment thing or not?

How about lead by example? Provide us with a list of specific, concrete, quantifiable changes that you personally have made in your life to decrease the amount of CO2 you put into the air.
