I find that the best way to get through a panic attack is to focus on breathing and don't fight the attack! When I panic, I try to ride it out because I know it will not kill me. Fighting it or negative self talk only makes things worse. It may be helpful to remind yourself that so many people suffer from this condition. The more I talk about it the more I realize that others deal with this, too.
I have taken Ativan (anti-anxiety medication) on occasion and that helps a lot but I really try to let the feeling pass. I think the book, "Don't Panic" by R Reid Wilson is the best one that I have read regarding panic attacks.
Best of luck to you.

I dealt with very severe general anxiety disorder for 18 years. Standing in line at a store... panic attack. Going to a theater (large open space with lots of people)... panic attack. Driving over a bridge... panic attack. Sitting in class... panic attack.
I suggest two things: see a psychiatrist. You'll need professional help to completely get rid of it. Second, visualization. For example, driving over the bridge... when I started feeling the anxiety coming on, I would imagine this talking fish I'd seen in a movie. It always made me laugh, so thinking of that broke the buildup of tension and the panic attack never happened. Think of something funny, or calming associated with whatever is causing you anxiety.
That will help you and if the psychiatrist sends you to a psychologist, that's one thing they'll probably tell you. I had three visits to a psychologist and about two years with a psychiatrist and my anxiety is pretty much gone. What's left is easily manageable with visualization.

During an anxiety attack, you may feel like you are losing control of your body. You need to control it. Steady your breathing first. Concentrate on taking slow, deep breaths. When you breathe in, visualize being renewed with energy, and when you breath out, visualize all the bad thoughts and worries leaving with your breath. Tell yourself that this will pass, and that you will get through it. In general, concentrate on calming yourself.

What is making you anxious? Try limiting your exposure to it...if you can't limited it then try to develop some coping techniques...deep breathing, projection = close your eyes and project yourself into a beautiful place you have been before like the beach or mountains and just feel the great feelings you had when you were there - that should get you to calm down a bit and allow you to get refocused...

Yes, he does, and you don't have to promise to be perfect in return. Pray for his help, his guidance, his healing, everything you need. Ask him to help you stop cursing, help you be kind, etc. God loves to hear from you, loves to help you, just plain loves you. God can also help you through doctors and medicine.

First of all, some nervousness is normal for everyone. When that nervousness becomes more is when someone claims to be a victim of "attacks".
I recommend telling yourself you are normal, experiencing something that is normal, and stop being a victim.
