In the way your question is asked...no, but if you asked "Can visits to a chiropractor resolve a bulging disc?" OR "Can a chiropractor aid my body in returning a bulging disc to its normal position?" then the answer would be Yes, but it depends...
It depends on the level of herniation, and only a qualified chiropractor with an actual examination of the patient's current condition can provide that.
If it is a simple disc bulge, chiropractors have very good success with resolution of this type of problem. Chiropractic treatments and recommendations can be very helpful with reducing the problem, and allowing it to heal.
If it is a hernation, it is a little more difficult to say, as some herniations will resolve with chiropractic treatment, and some will not. Some will resolve with surgery and some will not.
If the disc is sequestered (a piece has broken off), the body will typically wall off the piece and reabsorb it, and chiropractic can help with pain control, and keeping the area mobile so scar tissue doesn't form and delay healing.
The problem with bulging discs is that it has been estimated that over 40% of the population has bulging discs if they were to get an MRI, but most do not have symptoms, so the patient doesn't know they have a bulging disc, and most of the time the disc heals itself. Any orthopedic surgeon who is truly concerned about their patients will recommend some type of conservative care treatment plan for 4-6 weeks before going to surgery (except when certain symptoms are present). This allows for chiropractors to treat the patient through adjustments, exercises and modalities to help resolve the bulging disc.

Check here a very effective sciatica natural treatment http://cure-sciatica.info
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica.

Is he qualified to be doing this? If this he is an accupressurist, or an acupuncturist, chances are is he doesn't have that sort of experience to be doing this. You should be visiting a chiropractor, or an orthopedist who will be able to tell for sure whether you have a problem with it or not. There are certain people who have manipulative therapy experience, and then sometimes people don't have this training. When people go and have these issues, it is very important to get someone who actually has training and experience in the area, and not just someone who is good with trigger points. I would check with your doctor, or a chiropractor, to make sure there has been no damage to your neck.

I have 5 herniated discs in my lower lumbar. I went to an orthopedic doc and all they wanted to do was give me epidureal steroid injections and pain pills. I went to a chriropractor and they put my on a disc decompression machine, basically a machine that is traction, and put me through intense physical theray and I felt like a new person after a few months of strength building to my back. It is not a cure, but it is much much better. Even with surgery, there is no guarentee that it will work, and it does not rid you of pain completely. I would however if you choose a chiropractor, talk to them first, basically interview them to find out if they are in your opinion hireable.

I found this website it may answer some of your questions, but I would suggest to see a specialist before you have a chiropractor do anything...I had bulging discs about 25 years ago due to ex trying to break my back. The doctor I saw gave me some presciption medication and bed rest for about 6 weeks.I did not have to have surgery..I know the medical field has come up with some new treatments and new info since then!

A chiropractor cannot put a bulging disc back into place, but... That isn t a worrisome statement, and here is why. Studies show that it is common for any person who has made it to adulthood to have a bulging discs, and it is common that these bulging discs cause no pain. The problem is when these discs begin causing pain for these people. In which case chiropractors can be extremely helpful in relieving the pain caused by these discs. Chiropractors can be thought as a first line of defense for these disc pain problems because they offer a variety of safe treatment options specific to each patient. Chiropractors also know how to assess the severity of these disc problems and if they are severe enough they know to refer a patient for a surgical consult.

A chiro can check out your back and work with it to put the disc back in place, but if it is to far gone, a good chiro will send you to an M. D.
