i find it deeply ironic, disgusting even, that fundies want to complain about the government getting in the way with things like health care and commercial regulations, but turn around and want to legislate their morality on everybody.

huckabee as president would mean an end to america as we know it. the supreme court would be put firmly in the hands of rabid conservatives. abortion rights would disappear along with civil rights for unpopular minorities.

i'm more worried that bush is going to find some way to circumvent the election.

Bush pulled this same crap on us twice. Haven't we learned our lesson yet? Anyone claiming some kind of divine calling to lead our nation should be an automatic no vote.

It's unclear from whom he intends to take it "back". The country is 80% Christian and every branch of government is dominated by Christians, even Evangelicals.

I think what he means is that there are certain religious freedoms Christians could enjoy...and now those freedoms have been taken away......he meant that Christians be restored their religious liberty so they could have the same rights as others......

for example, a Christian doctor or nurse should not be in danger of losing their jobs for refusing to do an abortion...they should be able to refer the patient to someone else without being accused of discrimination.

Christians are also forced to allow homosexuals to teach their children liberal values...and humanistic education is to replace any religious training they received at home.

another example...a Christian who is a scientist lost his job a t a large scientific biology laboratory in Mass. because he said he did not believe in evolution.....so why is that? that is discrimination.

no, i want to vomit. our forefathers are rolling in their graves. this is why we left England to begin with and a big reason that the constitution was written. i am honestly terrified (and a little embarassed) that americans would be stupid nough to think this man would make a good president. i used to consider myself to be patriotic, but i am terrified of the direction this country seems to be headed.

No I don't agree with Huckabee and yes that does disturb me that a politician who should be representing everyone automatically dismisses anyone who isn't christian with his statement.

The one thing it has guaranteed is that he won't get my vote should he get the Republican nomination.

Perhaps there should be a basic American History test for Presidential candidacy.
