Go over to her house with ice cream and funny movies and help her get through a rough night. Not much you can do but be there for her.

The best thing you can do is to be a sympathetic listener. Let the person pour out his or her heart. Don't take sides in the issue, and don't offer advice unless asked for. You can ask if there's anything you can do to help. Otherwise just lend a sympathetic ear and a shoulder to cry on. The person with a broken heart needs to vent in order to heal.

It's probably most important not what to say, but just being around them. Be sure to get them out of the house, and if possible, take her cell phone away from her and leave it somewhere so she doesn't spend every waking minute by it wondering if he's gonna call.

Sit down with her and have her watch the movie "Swingers." It's thee best movie to watch that anyone can relate to regarding breaking up and getting over it.

I think the best thing you can do is offer her genuine support. Its important to just let her talk and vent and if you dont know what to say you can paraphrase something she has said. I think if you can be that shoulder to cry on and the ear to hear her story, and her feelings, that you will be offering her everything she needs from you right now.

What would you want to be said to you? Think! There isn't really any good words, all you can do is be there... Listen, let them cry or scream. The hurt takes as long as it takes... And my best friend told me this. I think it was the best thing I could have ever heard... And trust me, it does take as long as it takes to get over a heart break...

saying sorry is good enough and then maybe ask her to go to the mall or take her somewhere to occupy her mind with something else. you will never be able to help her get over her heartbreak but you can do things to help her deal with it and take her mind off of it. she will eventually learn to deal with the breakup with some passing time.

Don't apologize because you didnt do anything wrong. I'm guessing you have never personally been through a break up? Well, Do little things to cheer her up. Buy her her favorite candy, rent a movie, and make sure you remind her that she still has you and she will be okay.

sometimes saying nothing at all is the best thing to do. some people just need you to be there to listen to them,or to comfort
them.give him/her a hug and let them know that you are there for them if they need you.

of course she would know your sorry. why not try to get her to go to a "girls night" with her closest friends. just tell her its over she needs to move on [i know its kinda harsh to say but she needs to stay strong] and maybe the relationship wasn't meant to be.
