This possibly is carpal tunnel syndrome. I rather suspect however that you have the ulnar nerve impinged somewhere between the cervical spine and your hand. See a doctor or more specifically an orthopedic surgeon.

Take some advil & put ice on your neck/shoulder. If you pull a muscle or hurt a nerve in your shoulder area this can cause numbness in your fingers and hands. If it doesn't go away after a few days I would see a doc. Good luck!

the blood just doesnt flow very well. try soaking your hand on warm water with alcohol, do this as a habit. and when u wake up in the morning, raise your arms up and shake them vigorously for a minute. this will be your hands exercise. this will help you.

nerve injury or blood circulation would be the best guess. If it persists go to your doctor.
Go to webmd and use the symptom finder doodad they have.

There's lots of home remedies, but those are for after what the other guy said: get thee to a doc. This could be a sign of stroke or central nervous system problem or many other things both dangerous and not. If you have coverage, check it out. If not, tough decision.

Do you think you might have repetitive stress injury?
(Doing the same thing over and over daily, like typing perhaps?)
