Sure, why not? And you can observe Passover, Purim, and Yom Kippur with the Jews.
btw, do you have any idea what the followers of Jesus have done to the Jews over the last 2000 years? If you do, you'll understand why we don't celebrate Christmas!

Sine we have freedom of religion in America doesn't that mean we have the freedom to join in any celebration, no matter what religion?
Sorry for answering your question with another question. oO Just trying to point that out. ;) I agree with being a multicultural society that we all should be able to celebrate christmas among other holidays.
Most of my family is Christian and I celebrate Christmas with them. (Even though they don't know I am atheist and think the holiday has pagan origins!)

Christmas is not a christian holiday. It's a pagan holiday and the catholics brought it into the church because they think it will bring more ppl into the church. They have also brought in pagan idols and other stuff too bring in more ppl. Jesus wasn't born on on the 25th like most ppl think. He was born in the fall. Christmas really doesn't have anything to do with God, it's a selfish day because most ppl only care about getting presents. What does santa have to do with anything? I don't understand why parents lie to their kids and say santa gives them their presents. That is stupid. What does that have to do with God? You should look up how christmas really came into being. Not sure you if you are a christian or not but you should know the backrounds of what you celebrate. The traditions were purposely changed so you would think of it as something innocent and be tricked into. Here is a link that talks about the origin of Christmas: http://www.goodnewsaboutgod.com/studies/holidays2.htm

In my religion, Jesus is a prophet and the Virgin Mary is also celebrated. Instead of having a traditional Christmas with Santa Claus, I dedicate it to having a family dinner and remember the stories in my religion's point of view.
P.S. I'm not starting any arguments of Jesus, I'm just saying what I was taught, and simply honor him. Isn't Christmas about honoring him? That's what I observed from other Christians.

New years has no longer something to do with faith in any sort. it quite is no longer pagan nor christian. Christmas isn't Pagan the two, yet there are 2 facets to it. The religious area which the Christians rejoice and the secular area which has to do with people wanting peace in the international and (supposedly) sturdy will in the direction of your fellow guy. The secular area is likewise changing presents. Pagans rejoice yuletide which falls on the 21/22 of Dec. And Samhain is their New Years. So i think of it would be as much as the guy. would not difficulty me one way or the different.

Jag,
Celebrate and be joyful. No one "owns" Christmas. I love Jesus and love to think of how He loves us. He wouldn't want us to pick fights about His birthday. He wasn't even born in December. I celebrate that Jesus was good to all kinds of people and He loved going to celebrations. Jesus is the "reason for the season" to me; His love has done so much for my life. He is my reason to keep living - He is a wonder to me!!!
I'm with you; lets all be kind to each other and not try to "prove our way of celebrating is best". I hope you have a blessed and beautiful Christmas time.

If the world runs like that then this world will surely be peaceful...
Unfortunately, it isn't as easy at it seems
It depends on the person really and the culture.
Everyone can celebrate Christmas it's just that do they really want to celebrate it?

If you know anything about history, the festival of Saturnalia came way before christmas.... christianity is a copy cat religion, so lots of people celebrate the coming of light.... about Dec. 21, when the days begin to become longer. Read, hon. And learn some history.

Christmas has become a secular holiday moreso than a religious holiday. I am an agnostic and I practice the secular parts of Christmas (Santa, Presents, Love, Family, and Shopping), but not the religious elements (Church, Jesus Christ, etc.)
