at times, i will space out completely. and after a few minutes i will come back and be kinda like woah, wtf?
and this happened to my last night at a party. people were talking to me and i was really confused. and i was looking near a strobe light and my whole upper body was twitching and jerking. and i think this went on for about 5-10minutes and stopped when someone turned on a light.
and often at school after lunch i will walk with a friend to their class and ill get that weird confused feeling and my body will feel weird and ill start walking and looking around slow.
and i read about simplepartial seizures and parts of the brain going haywire and i feel this is hapening. it usually doesnt affect me too much, exept im kinda scared.

im 15, and in good health. i suffer from a moderate anxiety issue. not taking any medications or drugs.

i too think it may fade with age. in the past few months ive had some serious memory issues as well. like entirely forgetting a period of 4 hours. and also major short-term memory loss. to the point of not being able to carry on a conversation cause i would keep forgetting what i or the other person was talking about.
these have faded away and dont bother me anymore. hopefully this will too, as if my brains just growing and going through phases due to adolescence.
im not going to see a doctor just yet. ill try to wait it out and hope its not a serious problem.
besides my mom always tells me its nothing and makes me feel like **** about it. so unless i Know its something, ill keep it to myself.

It might be related to seizures or it might be related to the anxiety.

Some people have petit-mal seizures where they just kind of space out. I have heard about lights triggering seizures, and strobe lights are awfully intense.

Some people have "spacing out" for purely mental reasons, ADHD, anxiety, dissociative symptoms (feeling unreal). A sleep disorder is another possibility.

See a doctor, it really should be checked out.

Sounds like the petit-mal seizures that I have. It is very common for strobe lights to bring on seizure activity. Anxiety, migraines and seizures all go hand in hand. I'd talk to your doctor about this because petit-mal seizures can, in time, increase to grand mal seizures and those are extremely frightening. Your doctor will want to get an EEG performed and possibly an MRI, CT scan and some bloodwork. My seizures did not start until I was 23 years old, but they have continued, especially in high stress situations, and I'm supposed to take medication (Neurontin) three times a day which really helps control the seizure activity. Get checked out, though - you don't want to ignore abnormal brain activity.......

I can't say for sure, but what you describe sounds like a mild form of epilepsy. I too suffered from this as a child. The strobe light triggered a photosensitive episode. Talk to your parents about this and see your doctor. There are tests that can be given to determine the severity. Hang in there, some forms will simply resolve with age.

Take a couple deep breaths and think about how long and how often these occur. Keep a log with a note about what you were doing (walking, just stood up, and etc...) when you noticed the condition.

If it continues you'll want to see a doctor, but he can't help if you can't give more details. Likely it's nothing, but you should take an active part in proving that. That in itself will help with the anxiety.

Get your parents to get you to a doctor. I had something similar happening to me occasionally and it turns out I was having mini-strokes.

What you describe does sound like seizures but other conditions have to be ruled out.
