Yes, an Atheist definitely doesn't believe in the existence of a supreme being and views the world based on logic, reason, and probability. An Agnostic hasn't made up his mind about the existence of a supreme being. Some feel they might be wrong and some feel they might be right. The Atheist actively denies the existence while an Agnostic isn't sure or not.

Sheesh, sorry, that's still kind of clear as mud, isn't it. It was my best shot.

There are two kinds of agnostics. (1) those who lack a postive belief in god but say that it is not possible to know either way so prefer the label 'agnostic'. (2) those who believe there is 'something' more. Their agnosticism relates to the nature of the something.

The first group are effectively atheists and the second group are closer to theists.

agnostics are in search of the truth, and tend to explore all spectrums, and may not always be agnostic...but may convert to a certain religion at some point in time if they feel it is right. Atheists just don't believe in anything spiritual and relgious and are not in search of any kind of truth - the truth for them is evident, there is no one watching over the world. IT is only us.

An atheist is absolute in denying the existance of God.

An agnostic neither believes, nor disbelieves that there is a God.

An atheist believes that there is no god. An agnostic does not have enough evidence given to them for them to decide whether God does exist or whether he doesn't.

Atheists do not believe in God at all.

Agnostics believe that there may be a god / goddess, but that humans can not ever be sure of his / her nature (or at least, not until after death.)
