Which Protestant Bible are you talking about?

I think you have your facts backwards.

The Bible (protestant or catholic version) contains everything we need to know to be saved. But yes, the Bible does say that if everything Jesus did was written down, the whole world could not contain the books.

We accept on faith that what is contained in the Bible is what is needed, anything more is interesting, perhaps historical, but not needed for Salvation.

The Catholic and Protestant Bibles both have the same New Testament, and the apocryphal books of the Old Testament (the ones considered Scripture by Catholics, but not Protestants) contain nothing that would alter the basic truths of the Christian Church. I know, I have read them.

There is more. There are many early Christian writings and oral Holy Tradition that was passed down. But the that was part of the Protestant movement, reject of those things and Bible as the only teaching tool. They lost alot such as the didache, the early writings, alot of Epistles and gospels that did not make it into the Bible because they were not broad enough to tell the whole story, but more focused on a particular thing or time. They lost alot of the detail as well as general thought on being a Christian.

I would really be interested in learning what you are calling the protestant bible.
I have spent the last 18 years of my life teaching through the New Testament. Taking it book at a time and chapter and verse at a time. I have taught through the new testament twice in 18 yrs. For instance we spent 19 weeks looking at Hebrews chapter 11. And if their is a doctrine of the Lord that I have missed I would really like for you to tell me what it is.

Was there any difference between what Our Lord commanded the Apostles to teach and what the New Testament contains? Yes. The 12 Apostles were given the Gospel of the Kingdom and teachings for the Jew.
The Apostle Paul received the Gospel of Grace from the resurrected Jesus Christ during Pauls 3 years in Arabia according to Galatians.
Galatians 1
1Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)

2And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:

3Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,

4Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

5To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

6I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

10For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

11But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

12For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

13For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

14And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

15But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,

16To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

17Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.

18Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.

19But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.

20Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

21Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;

22And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:

23But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.

24And they glorified God in me.

Our Lord commanded his Apostles to teach all things whatsoever He had commanded; (Matt. 28-20);

His Church must necessarily teach everything; (John 14-26); however, the Protestant Bible itself teaches that the Bible does not contain all of Our Lord's doctrines.
Answer: the Holy Ghost reveals all the we need to know to be Saved through His Truth and interpretation of the Holy Bible when we Humble ourselves and seek God's face in Prayer.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (King James Version)
14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
