Maybe nothing will happen. It might just come out the other end. But if it was hard, sharp plastic it could cause some problems. What kind of dog? My daughter has a Lab who will eat just about anything, but not all dogs are like that. Was it just something lying around your dog happened to chew on, or was it some serious piece of plastic??

It depends on the amount of plastic it ingested. Small pieces will most likely work their way through its system, but large pieces can cause blockage, keep an eye on the dog for a few days, it may come back out the other end, but if the dog becomes sick, or stops eating or drinking, or appears to be in pain, get it to a vet immediately

humm... I'm not a vet. But, I think if is a little dont worry too much. Dogs and animals have a strong "system" but, try not to make it a habbit. Stomach Acids can eat though, Carbon-steel in about 30 seconds. So... yea, if he, your dog, ate a whole roll of plastic wrap, thats another story. But like something pointlessly small. It should be cool.

Depends on how much and how small he chewed it. It will probably pass, but if the dog swallowed large or irregularly shaped pieces, it may become wedged in the digestive tract and cause blockage. You should watch for a few days and check to make sure that the plastic is passing in the bowel movements.

Well depending on the size of the dog and how much plastic it was most of the time they will just poop it out! Unless you have a real small dog that ate alot of plastic I wouldn't be too concerned!

My toy poodle did the same thing when we first brought her home. I was posting yahoo answers like crazy because she had diarrhea and was vomiting. She got SICK!!!!! She was dehydrated and she almost died. After spending 3 days at the vet, they ran test and did some x-rays. The x-rays showed she had a blockage. They gave her something to make it pass (if it didn't they would had to cut her open and remove the blockage) and when she passed it was a long piece of plastic. It was quite expensive but well worth the money!!!!!!
Watch her/him, if she/he has diarrhea or shows any signs of illness, don't hesitate, take her/him to the vet!

Depends on size and how much. Could pass right through, could perforate the gut and cause an excruciating death. Could obstruct the intestines and cause an excruciating death. If that happened you should take him to the vet.
P.S. If you see it coming out the other side, you can slice his intestines open and kill him if you try to pull it.

depends on how much plastic your dog ate, but my dog eats a few pieces of her plastic toys sometimes, and she's fine.

What kind of plastic? If it's a small piece of a plastic bag it will probably pass, but if it's more or hard plastic you should call your vet.
