the children's father is a deceased veteran (he was in the army) the children are 3 and 5 years old.

The Social Security Administration would provide funds for the children of a deceased parent , regardless of military service, but the Veteran's Administration does not provide that. Go to the Social Security Administration web site and they should have a FAQ sheet on that and will list the administrative requirements you have to follow.

Zero. That's a Social Security issue not VA.

If he died in service to our country, they would receive educational benefits. In any case, you would be able to receive monthly benefits for your children through the age of 18.

None. Why would you expect to recieve money from the VA???

There are scholarship programs available, but no direct monetary gifts.

if he was killed in Combat only would the kids be eligible for benefits. If he was justa veteran, then nothing.
