Ozone Layer.
Human activities such as burning fossil fuel/gas created CO2 carbon dioxide in which rises to the sky and the CO2 tries to break free into space. By doing so, the ozone layer (a layer of the Earth that protects the Earth from the powerful Sun's rays from destroying Earth and letting life be there) is opening up a hole from the pressure of the CO2 wanting to escape into space.
If the whole ozone layer is destroyed Earth would be too hot and we would have diseases, droughts, floods, more endangered and extinct species, hunger, etc. The ice and glaciers from Antarctica are now melitng causing the polar bears and other animals that cannot swim or swim for a long time drown.

The ozone layer, but it was being destroyed by halogenated hydrocarbons (search it). The problem is pretty much solved since the Montreal Protocol limited their emissions a lot. However, since heat is now trapped in the lower atmosphere more because of increased levels of carbon dioxide, causing the upper atmosphere (where the ozone layer is) to cool, there willl probably be more ozone destruction, so the hole will just take longer to regenerate.

Ozone is a layer of gas in the stratosphere that blocks incoming UV radiation. The Ozone was/is threatened by CFCs, however, CFCs have no relationship with CO2 or the greenhouse effect.
CO2 is essential to life. Without it all plants would die. Furthermore, the greenhouse effect which is produced in part by CO2 (but mostly water) is the only thing that stops the earth from turning into a snowball with no life.
Humans have cause the amount of CO2 to rise in the atomosphere and that has caused some warming, however, there is no empirical evidence that supports the claim that rising CO2 levels will cause out of control warming.

Th Ozone layer density over the North and South Poles is growing in size. There is no credible evidence for Global Warming. They should have had that conference in Chicago instead of Bali. In Chicago those perverts would have made a complete A.S.S. of themselves.

It is mostly people just trying to scare people. The hole in the ozone is theoretically made worse by CFCs which used to be common in air conditioners. The "holes" in the ozone are probably due to the fact that ozone is produced by the sun hitting oxygen (O2) and turning it into O3 and there is not much sun at the south pole and hence the hole. It doesn't have very much to do with man or with GW in my opinion, but there are those that are convinced that humans have caused the ozone holes. You need to adopt a great deal of skepticism. I am a geologist and environmental consultant and I know that the people that claim to know something seldom do.

The hole in the ozone that was going to kill us all has gone away. The acid raid that was going to kill us has also gone away. Over population that was going to kill us has ceased to be a problem, despite getting even worse. And on and on. Global warming will go away also. This is just a fad. In the 1970's these exact same esteemed scientists were insisting we were headed for another ice age. Just ignore this latest hoax, and in a few years, it will slowly die out.

how do so many stupid people end up in one question? Global warming is very real. It can be stoped, and the US is still the worst polluter and the only one not trying to do anything. China is trying hard to fix the problem with large investments in renewable energy.

That's not global warming. The hole in the ozone layer - which is part of the stratosphere - is a seperate problem.
Global warming is caused by increased greenhouse gases such as CO2 in the troposphere.

Actually, it doesn't matter where it is or whether it's a myth or whether the earth will end. There is nothing we can do about it. It doesn't matter what the US does. The Chinese and the Indians are industrializing so rapidly that we could vanish and there would still be global warming.
