He didn't. As a matter of fact, He breathed on His Apostles and said "Receive ye the Holy Ghost." At that moment, Apostolic Tradition became alive and dwelt in the Apostles and their successors.

He didn't.. The bible is the collection of scripture written before and after Jesus. THe old testament contains stories, psalms, songs, prayers, prophecies and other information related to to journey of God's chosen people, the Israellites, throughout history. THe new testament was written by disciples of Jesus, writing about his birth, life and death, and also teachings on how Christians should live their lives modeled after Jesus, written by such people as Paul and John the Evangelist. It also features the prophecy of the end times in Revelation, seen and written down by John. But the Bible is still the word of God because the writers of the Bible were all followers of God and were mandated by Him to record all that had occured and all that God had commanded and said. However, Jesus did tell his apostle Peter to start the church and build it upon a rock to make it strong and withstand the tempest of time.
EDIT: Sabbath 77: that verse is Revelation 22: 18-19

Well John 1 states "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." What Jesus preached and how He lived are linked inseperably together in who Jesus is. Obviously you don't want to know Jesus or you would go drink from this fountain of life. So, it is only wisdom when you are confused and don't understand....that you read the instructions.

The Bible is there to instruct us and guide us. The Christian faith is based on our acceptance of Jesus into our lives and living for me.

Apostle Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete thoroughly equipped for every good work." To what then "All Scripture" refer to? When Jesus was still ministering on earth, he himself quoted on the Old Testament Scriptures, thus recognizing its authority for use in the Christian faith. As for the New Testament, it was Jesus' apostles or their disciples who penned the books as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit. As I understand it, their purpose is to preserve the teachings of Jesus Christ and teach it to the disciples at the time (as in the Gospels), and to address issues in the early church (as in the Epistles). Though at the time of their writing, they themselves did not know it will be included in the Bible as it is now. But during their time, these writings were recognized as authoritative for use in the teaching and strengthening of the Christian faith. As to why there are many denominations with differences in opinions and views on some points of the Bible, that just shows the limitations in the people's understanding. Some are just honestly mistaken while others are sadly blinded. Jesus himself said that in the last days, there will be many false teachers and prophets proclaiming to know Christ. However, this doesn't nullify the authority of the Scripture itself as basis for the Christian faith. Just be watchful of what you hear and believe, lest we be deceived. Better to read the Bible personally to prove what others teach.

He didn't, and I wish more Christians would realize it.
Many Christians walk around proclaiming the Bible is the word of God, but it's not, and even the BIBLICAL evidence for this is weak. Jesus is and was the TRUE word of God, and that's from Jesus's mouth.
True Christians will follow the word of Jesus first, above all things, including the human-authored Bible.

Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit.
John 14:26
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
When you look at the Armor of God, you will see that the Word of God is our sword.
When satan tempted Jesus, what did Jesus use to make satan flee? The Word of God.
The Armor of God
10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Jesus plainly said only the Bible contains the doctrine and the rules.
He added that no other directions will be validated, and anyone who doubts his words will be excommunicated.
It's my understanding that he put his uncle in charge of enforcement.
