It gave the teams with deeper pockets a huge advantage over the little guys because of the 7 post shaker rig. The big teams could test that car all day on the rig and get a real good idea of how it will react to each track. The little guys only got that experience on the track itself and those tests were limited like they are every year. Maybe for the COT they should have expanded the tests a little more.

Whether they did or not really isn't going to matter now. There will be more teams sharing technology in '08, Goodyear is going to use a different tire compound, and everything will be different next year than it was this year.
As far as the results of '07 go, yes, they should have allowed more testing of the CoT by all the teams, in '06. Teams can test on tracks outside of the NASCAR schedule, as long as that track is not on the Cup schedule, and they have to use their own tires, not Goodyears. I don't think that many teams had an opportunity to test the CoT in that way, or in regular NASCAR testing.

I think they did because some of the data that they were not able to get for each of the first races of the season messed up the ways that the cars raced and worked in the first few races. But overall, only allowing for each of the teams to have a certain amount of testing at these tracks individually without letting unlimited testing was the right thing to do to make every team on a much more even level.

Actually they didn't limit the testing of the COT. They limited the COT testing days at certain tracks that host cup events.
Nascar racing is big business, anyone not testing the only car that will be legal for racing as much as humanly possible cannot hope to be competetive.

The 2007 season was for testing, and since all that was done in actual races for preparation for the 2008 season, I think there was no mistake in the amount and actual testing of the COT. Kyle Busch & Hendrick Motorsports had no problem in the COT If they can handle it, everyone else should be able to follow suit.

The only thing Nascar did was to restrict testing at tracks that hold Nascar events. Teams can test all day long, whenever they want, at tracks that do not host events. Many teams use tracks like Greenville Pickens in S.C., Virginia International, and other tracks to test cars.

Yes, I think they should of had less testing. The testing they had didn't really do anything for making the races exciting. All the COT races were dull. I mean how bad was Bristol? That was bad for any track, but the fact it was Bristol just made it all that much worse.
