We have had one of our dogs for a couple of years and his partner died he looked and acted lonely so we saved a dog (from dying) and now they hate each other. One is inside and the other outside (and happy that way). Both are males and not desexed, the new one is getting de-sexed next week. Our older dog is 2 and this dog 1. One is a husky x and this one is a Lhasa Apso. I just wanted them to be friends. What I am wanting to know is if they will ever be friends?. It is hard to train a dog to be an inside (toilet) trained dog. Pls dont knock me Im just trying to do the right thing.

Have both of them neutered. I think that will solve a lot of your problems right there.

Another thing you will have to do is teach them that neither of them is the 'alpha' dog- that you are, and that you will not tolerate them fighting. Cesar Milan would be a good source of tips for such instruction.

Good luck!

Have them both neutered. Although I know of altered males living together in perfect harmony, it's harder with unaltered males and females. I have heard of unspayed females fighting to the death. You are wise to keep them separated until you can have them both neutered. Good luck.
