This morning, my dad creates a scandal that I am not doing enough chores and not helping out (even thought I think I do). One of my chores is getting mail up on the street. I was sick in bed but still changed and went for the mail, where I find an empty box. He took the mail two hours earlier for some reason! So I say, "why didnt you tell me? Be a good person!" And he flips out again! Who is right?

It seems like there is just some nit picking going around. I say go out and get some time away from him. Then when you come back maybe you two could possibly spend some quality time together without arguing over petty things. There are more important things happening in the world and I am sure in your life as well. Make it known.

I am sorry to hear you are sick. However, I think even though it would have been nice if you had been told not to worry about the mail and you probably feel miserable, you should be more respectful and not be rude to your dad. Apart from that, maybe he thought you were asleep again or in bed and did not realise you were likely to go to get the mail then. Good luck and hope you are feeling better soon.

Hi... Sounds like a moody person.. Obviously not.. Who would hold a double standard? Neither of you is right, definetly not him but unfortunatly not you because of him.. What I suggest is talk with him and suggest that if you check the mail it is to be there to be picked up.. Don't ask for something if you intend to do it yourself, it's a double standard. ( from you to him) Don't let him continue setting you up, gotta get something in your arsenal of retribution, fight back tactfully.. Good luck..

Your father apparently has "issues" which have nothing to do with you personally... he has to have someone to take it out on, and NO it's not fair that it's you.

Most people who react like your father does, have unresolved OLD problems which they never properly dealt with. It's HIS problem, not yours... i hope you can somehow learn not to take it personallly.

take care and sorry you have to live with an angry person.
hugs
