If your goal is to reduce CO2 than the best solution is to improve your home. Contact your utility provider and request an energy audit. They will do it for free and if there are significant areas for improvement they will probably give you rebates for performing them. In typical homes the largest heat loss comes from windows or the attic.

You should have at least 12" insulation in the attic. There is not much point putting much more than this as it becomes cost prohibitive once you pass R50.

For windows the most sensible ones that are affordable are double wall / argon filled with 1/2" gap. Replacing them will also reduce your infiltration, which is a very significant portion of your heat loss/gain.

Now isn't that always the case. Everyone wants everyone else to do something but nobody wants to make any sacrifices themselves. If you truly believe in stopping global warming, you'd give up your car.

OR you can buy "carbon credits" like Al Gore. That won't actually help anything, but everyone can clap you on the back over it and say "well done".

Well if we follow by example we could fly to all the places we need to go after all Pimp Daddy Al does so it must be good for the environment, and all the global nuts flew to the latest meeting on global warming so it has to be the most eco friendly way to commute.

There is only 1 way to "stop" global warming.. and that is to find a way to regulate the energy output of the sun. I doubt we'll be doing that any time soon..

Stop every hundred miles and give a global warming speech and slide projector show of homeless polar bears.

Put in the curley que light bulbs. That will stop global warming. And refrain from killing whales.

You can't help stop it. Even if every human being disappeared tomorrow, global warming would continue as it has since the last ice age ended 10,000 years ago.

Just think, in the past 10,000 years, before humans had any impact, the glaciers retreated 2,000 miles and the oceans rose hundreds of feet. Who are we to think we can 'stop' this by driving a different car?

Al Gore started this whole scare for the money...

You obviously don't care enough.

It's time to give up your car and any other comforts of modern life for the love of Our Mother.

Just look at the GW prophets - they're doing their part. Right?

if you like your car so much then don't get rid of it. It won't cause global warming. even though you won't listen to me.

locally organically grown produce is a start organically grown cotton is also going to make a difference (wall mart has a line of clothing) but the biggest thing you gan do is go vegan or at least vegetarian rain forest is being cut down at a record rate to provide more grazing land . and while a vegan diet uses 300 gallons of water a day to produce a meat and dairy based diet takes 4000 gallons of water, plus mammals produce methane gas( a green house gas) when they digest their food, so many cows = more methane gas
