My girl and I are finished. With Christmas right around the corner it seems harder than it should. We've been together for three years and this will be our first Christmas apart. I know it's over, I would just like suggestions on speeding up the process of moving on...
Thanks!!

Just to answer. We divorced earlier in the year and ended up getting back together. There are too many terrible things from the past that we can't work through. Plus, I'm pretty sure she's seeing someone else, it's a factor but not the biggest or most important reason.
Like I said, just answering some of the questions...

you no the_gov i think you are having a really hard time and i have some advice.
1) you sould tell me wether she is still trying to get back to you.
2) you sould just say hi and ask if you and her could be friends.
3) talk to your friends and get your feelings out.
4) if she is being the worst person steer clear of her or at least try.

Go away for the holidays and maybe you'll meet someone new or at least have a quick fling. Kidding...

It won't be easy for either of you.
Just be mature about it and try to remain friends.
You both need some time. Thats all.

The holiday season always seems like the worst time for a break-up, but if you both know its over than just be honest, she will cry, hell you may even cry, but in the end you will both be better for it, do prolong the inevitable just because it is holiday time, nobody wins that way.

If you're truly breaking up then there's nothing to say.
Don't call, and don't answer or text.

Now, if this is breakup number 5, then put your differences aside for the holidays.
It only makes it look as though you're trying to get out of buying her a gift.

Million dollar question Gov- Unless you get her to think it's her idea, it's not going to be clean, straight forward or neat. Only thing I can really offer is I think you're right to do it, ignoring it or pro-longing it won't make it any better and just muddles a murky situation.
