Where the hell do you get your info. #1 is untrue. Happened to a couple of cases, and the error is fixed. Blown WAY out of proportion. #2 729 days of combat?? The formula goes on a number of days spent annually, and that equals two years. How did you come up with that?? #3, I REALLY need to see where you got the number brain trauma cases. You are WAY off on that one. #4 If you only knew we how many questionaires and visits to mental health we had to go through before, during, and after a deplolyment, you would know the truth.
EDIT: Sorry, Rolling Stone isn't really what I would call reputable news!! And, a reputable denial? I'm deployed right now, moron!

I think it more shame on you and the other people who spread half-truths and made up statistics to say something was done wrong. The biggest example of that is your number one which was a clerical error and corrected-the only people which were supposed to have to pay back were those discharged with OTH and certain other cases including those that failed the required training to receive the bonus. If you want to make something look bad, and the treatment of veterans has never been as it should be because civilians like to forget the vet's the second the guns go silent or when they want to buy more votes, use data from a reliable source and not one persons or groups ranting to prove a point they believe in. This getting as tired as the "legal world wide opinion that the war is illegal" which is a single lawyer's opinion in England. The American people should fix this problem by doing what is right, finding out the truth and not listening to people trying to make political points instead of being honest.

#1 is a lie. There is no law or regulation that requires the wounded to repay bonuses.
In fact they do get to keep the bonus.
Soldiers who become ill or who are wounded while on active duty are entitled to keep all recruitment bonuses due them. Army policy already prohibits so called “recoupment” in such cases.
Soldiers who encounter problems should call the Wounded Soldier and Family Hotline at 800-984-8523 or send email to wsfsupport@conus.army.mil Open 24 hours a day.
Contacting the Hotline is the solution.
Petitions circulated for reactionary propaganda purposes will actual hurt soldiers because there is no law to be passed, no policy or regulation to be changed. It will only result in those running the Hotline and helping soldiers having less time because they will now have to push paper to meet new Congressionally imposing reporting requirements.
As far as #2, you libs wouldn't like that unit at ALL....they are the one who made the "Halp Us Jon Carry, We R Stuk Hear in Irak" banner.
Plus not everyone comes home on the same damn day. They come home in waves, so not everyone was on that one day "edge".
I'm not sure what the story was about that, but I doubt your account is honest or reasonable.
