Sure. The cashiers won't care. The whole "card" thing is used by Safeway and other major supermarkets as a way to track what consumers are buying.

I never use my actual card at Safeway. I just punch our phone number in on the keypad. Before I moved here, my aunt said just to use her phone number. Nobody ever questions it. In fact when I'd tell the cashier that I was just visiting my aunt and didn't want to sign up for a card, they'd TELL me to use her phone number. No biggee.

ya u can. As long as the card has no ID on it then u can. It is just like a gift card, only it is for food.
