Can your stomach burst if you continually drink water, or will you throw up?

Your stomach can swell for a variety of reasons but it will not burst. You will vomit first.

You will throw up. But also you can die if you overload yourself on water, when the Wii came out a radio station hosted a "water drinking contest" where one of the participants drank so much water that he got water poisoning from it and died. He repressed his gag reflexes so he wouldn't throw up because you weren't allowed to throw up on this contest.
Your appendix is the closest thing that can really "burst".
I believe your stomach can rupture though.

Yes, it can burst, but not while you're alive. It can stretch to nearly twice it's size, but if you're alive, long before that happen you'd stop putting anything in it. It's a very strong container and because it's surrounded by other organs you couldn't physically burst it by something you can do.
