There was this guy that I have been talking with and flirting with for weeks over email, and we see each other at work, but talked much more over e-mail- almost daily. He told me that he was physically attracted to me and had growing feelings for me. I responded telling him that I think about him too, have feelings of wanting him, too, and care about him. Well, slowly but surely he stopped with the flirting and emails. I really don't understand. He's still 'polite' to me, and I still have to see him. Does anyone understand this, and what do I do?

He might be embarrassed because he opened up, or he might think you are not being honest and were just going along with it. He might be worried about having a relationship at work because of poor outcomes. Of course, he might be dealing with something not related to you at all. Why not sit him down over some coffee or tea and talk about it, rather than second guessing?

I've went through similar situations on several occasions and I've learned to just move on. Whenever a guy distances himself from me and I know that I haven't done anything to cause it, I don't regret nor sweat his lack of consistency. Start backing away from him and most likely he'll return when he gets ready to. If you choose to allow him to come back into your life just be warned that old habits don't die easily. He has to know that he can't just pop in and out of your life when he chooses but should be willing to want to do right by you. If he can't then forget him.
