make it up and out? Worried as hell.

Get a small mirror and a flashlight. Shine the light directly up the chimney and hold the mirror so you can see where it shines. If the cat is stuck or on the damper (it makes a shelf) you'll at least know it's still in the chimney. It should come down of it's own accord. Most chimneys have a screen at the top to keep out starlings, raccoons and squirrels. If yours doesn't have that then the cat could possibly get out onto the roof, and if there's a tree branch close enough and large enough to get to they can get down. I'd check around the house on the roof just to be sure.

i would spray pepper spray down the chimney i know it sounds mean but thats about all you can do the cat probably cant climb back up the pipe. have someone ready at the fireplace to catch the cat in a box or blanket .

Yes. Living wild creatures usually can't get any food up in a chimney. So in order to survive, hunger will make it come down in search of food.

um...wow, feral cat....I'm sure it's made it out and gone by now. If for some reason it's still in there, it's probably just trying to find a warm place to stay for the night. Cats are stubborn, but I'm sure it'll get out of there.

maybe try to coax it down with like milk or tuna or something, then catch it with a net and throw it outside.
