If you have the space, play fetch with her while you are doing other things. She will get the exercise and you can continue with your work.

Also, watch how much she eats - measure her food and keep an eye on how many treats she is getting.

Your dog may be overeating. You should limit her food to the amount suggested on the back of the bag and only feed her twice a day so she doesn't eat it all at once. (I had this problem with my chocolate lab - she doesn't know when she's full.)

You can throw a ball around your yard or in your house, letting her fetch until she's exhausted. It will only take about 15-20 minutes and she'll lose some of that excess fat!

The dog might also be over eating. There are special kinds of dog food you can get at Petsmart or Petco that are specifically for weight control.

I don't have a dog but I did have one of my cats that was a bit overweight. At my vet suggestion I switched to diet cat food. And my cat lost a bit of weight. He looks good. So maybe you could go to petsmart and pick out diet dog food.

make it a win/win,for you and the dog. studying is a good thing, keep it up! but you will find if you study for an hour or so and than take the dog for a walk. the dog will love it and get the needed exercises and you will clear you head and do better when you restart you studies..

Try a friend with a fenced in yard? Or another dog she can play with? Like play dates?

Watch what she eats. Eating a people food or unnecessary treats is not good. Talk to your vet & see about getting her on a diet.

well you shouldn't have a dog it you neglect it. Dogs need LOTS of excercise. If you don't have time to look after a dog properly, get a cat.
