To me, and I'm just speaking personally here, (not reading any side effect labels)...I experienced marked effects immediately after taking the hyrdrocodone.

Short term effects were dizziness, grogginess, and a feeling of being a bit "loopy", (similar to intoxicated, yet different). It definitely worked to "relax" all muscles. (but I didn't even feel comfortable enough to drive a vehicle while taking, so I took my prescribed dose at night for pain relief).

Be careful with hydrocodone or even oxycodone due to their nature to become addictive.

I was given hydrocodone for pain relief when I had cancer, and also for a very painful ovarian cyst at one point. These meds are easy to misuse for some people...so talk to your doctor or pharmacist concerning adverse reactions and addiction.

I've been taking 4, 10 mg. loratabs a day for years and the only side effect I notice is constipation. The problem with hydrocodone is not the narcotic but the 500 mg of acetaminophen in it. That is what will damage your liver if you take too much. It's best to not take any additional acetaminophen by itself. You may find it helpful to take something like Doculax or a stool softener.

One of the side effects that can occur from hydrocodone is drowsiness, especially during the first few days of use. Constipation can also be a side effect for some people.

I would recommend checking with your pharmacist as well to see what they say.
