You can feed her kitten food and get her weight up. Some nutritional deficiencies can cause bone damage. Some are reversible. I'm thinking of Rickets. Children's vitimins, in portions based on the weight of the cat can be helpful. Sometimes cats get lost in the storms and can't find their way home. The Humane Society and the ASPCA should offer low cost help, without taking the animal from you. Sometimes though, they act as though you can't give an animal a good home unless you are wealthy. They can be "uppity." If there is irreversible damage to the paw due to malnutrition, it doesn't mean the kitten can't have a great, normal life.
Check the paw for pain. See if it improves, like a sprain. If it's broken, chances are they would let it heal and rebreak it to set it, since you don't know how long the paw has been injured. Sometimes a paw draws up, and inverts, due to nerve damage, and then the "shocked" nerve eventually returns to normal. This happened to one of my cats. She needs love and good food right now. Save $$ for a vet visit. Ask for it as a Christmas gift!
You may learn to love the kitten and find out it belongs to a neighbor child, who misses it dearly. Is the weather too bad for you to ask around the neighborhood about the cat? It would be hard to fall in love with it and have to give it up.
I found this web site for you.

It's low cost vets in your area. Good Luck. Blessings to those who care for God's creatures.

Well, I would say that you should feed the cat, give it water, and let the paw be. I once had a cat get hit by a car and he hurt his hip. I couldn't take him to the vet, and his hip healed on it's own. Your cat will probably not be able to walk on it's paw for a while, but living with you will be better to it then living out on the street! Just be careful not to touch it too much or the cat might bite you. As long as the cat doesn't have an open cut it will be fine. You shouldn't try to put it's paw in a cast anyway, since the bones haven't been set, the bandage will only be a nuisance to your cat.
Hope you and your cat will have a good time together!!

Hmmm.... I can't think of any places from where you live, but, you call your local vet, and see if there is anything that they can help you with. They might be able to help you with all the needs this cat needs, and, give it to you at a low price. Though, if they don't, it never hurts to ask! Also, sending in email out to all of your friends, family, neighbors, everyone! and explaining why you need the money and even posting some pictures of the cat in the email, will probably get you some money, there! You could even start a second job, even if it's something small such as pet sitting or baby sitting. Either way, you are sure to keep this cat, even if it means you have to ask for some money, or work a little harder!
Thanks for caring for this cat! Thanks, and good luck!,

It looks like you have a cat.
Feed her up, that's priority #1. You're right in that shelters and animal control won't give injured cats a chance, they're automatically put down (it's how we ended up with cat #4 by us, he was too nice to take anywhere for adoption and he had major medical problems from being struck by a car).
Call around at the vets to find if one of them lets you make payments on vet care. Some do.

I googled "no kill shelter Kansas City" and found this website for an org. called "No More Homeless Pets in Kansas City": http://www.kcpets.org/index.php?PAGE_ID=9
There is a list of animal shelters and animal control agencies in the Kansas City area, with phone numbers and addresses. I suggest you go down the list until you find a place that can care for this kitty.

I don't know about Kansas City, you would really need to research that, but the SPCA is everywhere and they may help. You can also call your local shelter and ask them if any of the local vets do discounted work for strays. Cat rescues are everywhere too, check petfinder.com for one in your area.

You have a kind heart. Feed her what good food you can, and keep her warm. I dont know if theres any animal charity groups in your area, but in the UK you could get help from the PDSA (peoples dispensary for sick animals). Maybe a kind vet from your area is reading this, and could help in some way.

Post a add on cragslists in your nearest big city area and write exactly what you wrote here. Rescues look at craigslist everyday. We get posts like that in our area and somebody is always stepping in to help. Majority are rescues! Give it a shot!

Call animal control. They won't put it down, until atleast 80 (?) days have passed. If the owner does not pick the cat up, you can always adopt it.
