normally, the starting or stopping of allotments takes around a month or so. sometimes even longer. one of mine took 2 months. but either way, as long as the government takes to get you your well deserved money, you WILL get it eventually.

YOur husband needs to be the one contacting finance office, not you. The military will not discuss pay issues with a spouse unless they have a power of attorney. There should have been no issue in your housing being intrerrupted. The other poster was correct, if your spouse stopped the allotment you should still be getting the amount for your previous location directly deposited (along with his pay) into your account. It may take some time for the change in rates to catch up (and if you haven't checked already, you may want to incase you will be getting less than before). If you have moved on base with privatized housing, you wouldn't see the money in your account as the military would automatically deduct it to pay the base housing management group.

It all has to do with timing. The military has cut off days for processing payments. If you stopped the allotment between the 23rd and the 7th, it will be seen on the 15th. Anything from the 8th thru the 22nd will be seen on the 1st. I would call Norfolk and ask them, that way you at least have some kind of idea, good luck

I believe pay changes only happen on the 15th of the month. So if he contacted dispersing after Nov 15th it will not go into effect until Dec 16th so you wont see it until Jan 1st.

Did you just get married? BAH should not have been disrupted. Worst case scenario your BAH would have been at the same rate in WA instead of VA. Your husband needs to talk to someone in disbursing at his command.

The good news is, once you get everything straightened out, it is all retro-active. Meaning, you will get back pay from the time your husband filed. Sometimes it does take awhile for BAH to kick in. If you go to MyPay, it will tell you all the deadlines to meet to make changes for your pay.

Do you know why they are late in processing your BAH? Because you and your husband are nobody. Im speaking from experience. For two whole sh*tty years I ran around enquiring about COLA for my son who is two year old plus now. I tried to approach Finance and Rear Detachment. Both parties pushing me around and directed me to the o ther party. However, the Rear Detachment blamed me. Why? Because somebody incharge was too heavy to get off his rear end to accomplish even a simple task therefore pinned the blame on me to cover up his own incompetency. Hence, I filed a complaint with Inspector General. Only then, they bothered to send somebody over to my house to get my signatory for paperwork. Mind you, those high ranking spouses do not have to go through stress like I did.

You're talking about the military. It can take a few months to get stuff like that squared away.

It always takes the military a while to get your money to you. It's a department funded by the government. They owe you, you must wait. you owe them be prepared to pay right away.
