Hi Brianna. I appreciate your efforts, but as a vet, I have to ask you to think a little more about this. I served in iraq twice. I came home with all of my limbs, brain cells, and abilities. I have my concerns about this war and how we got into it in the first place, but I'm a firm believer that bringing our troops home 'now' will do more harm that good.
Right now, there are roughly 160,000 American troops in Iraq, not counting civilian workers. Each of those troops have equipment ranging from pistols to tanks for which they are responsible. Just getting those troops our of Iraq and into Kuwait would take a huge amount of time, money and coordination. To get all of those people processed and all of their equipment cleaned so they can leave Kuwait would be a huge mess (customs is very strict about dirt, etc entering the U.S., and every troop has to go through a redeployment process that usually lasts a week). Remember, there are plenty of people over there who would take advantage of that situation to attack American troops. I feel it would be a massacre.
Ask a parent or grandparent about the day the American troops were pulled out of Saigon.
Also, I'd like to share with you something that a lot of Americans seem to forget: we join the military of our own accord to protect our country and fellow Americans, even if it means we'll die. It's a choice. There is no greater expression of love than to lay down your life for another. We do what the president and Congress tells us to do because it's their job to decide where we go and what we do in this world. It's our job to do it, even if when we're afraid or worried. Still, American troops are not victims. We're also not heroes. We show up to do the dirty work that not everyone else can do, and for that we should be offered the opportunity to see the job through. It hurts my heart every time I hear "bring our troops home now" from people who don't fully understand what is going on. War will never make sense, but we can be satisfied knowing that Americans are fighting on our side.
When it's time to come home, when the job is done, our troops will come home. To do so even a day too early would cause thousands of people to be needlessly killed.

Our troops are fighting a war against radical muslim terrorists who believe in killing americans and while we are there we are building a democracy and schools. Our troops are doing so much good over there and liberals hide it all and point out the shortcomings but the truth is that we are in a war and there are people who disagree with our way of life here and will try to attack us again HERE in America if we leave. Shallow minded people with no integrity and a lot of selfishness are trying to bring the war here in the U.S. A petition will not doing anything because this is a war not a bad lunch or even a small workers pay. This is much bigger than people signing a paper showing their stupidity and their ignorance.

Well let me tell something about the military, there is a saying, “No one hates war more than a warrior” and that is so true. I know because I was a Marine during the Viet Nam war and spent 66 days of the 77 day siege at Khe Sanh so I speak from experience. In order to have the freedoms we have someone has to pay a price just like anything else. No person in their right mind wants to be away from the things they love and the comforts of home and be in a war zone and being in harms way. There people that do this for a lot of reasons but one is to do their part to maintain our way of life, to stand on the wall and protect the people that can’t protect themselves and yes protect the ones that can but won’t. I don’t know exactly how to put this but it is not a good feeling to put yourself in a position of getting killed for someone that is so ungrateful for your sacrifice that all they can do is badmouth you having never walked in your shoes. If you want to do something for our/your troops go to a VA Hospital and visit with a Veteran, We are not all psycho killers we are just the people that try to protect America and our way of life.

It is great to see someone your age want to get involved in the system for what you believe!
I know everyone (minus a few nuts) wants to see everyone come home safe. Though I'm sure I'd disagree with your point of view, I like your eagerness.
You can do a petition drive without any ones permission. Now you can be limited on any private grounds (which includes malls, stores, and such, you need to get managements permission first, this will be tough on this issue since it is so polarized and split) but on public land like sidewalks, parks and such you can ask anyone to sign any petition. Make sure your petition letterhead describes exactly what you are asking for, this will help prevent skewing you objective by someone claiming "did they even know what they where signing?"
After you do your petition, verify and count signatures. Do not count the "Mickey Mouse" or "Donald Duck" signatures. Make a copy of every sheet.
Now make a cover letter, describing what the petition is for. Include a count of total signatures, valid signatures, and the whole area covered (this is to show numbers to population, like 2000 signatures in one town is allot where 15,000 in the large city or state is small).
Sign it as the rep. of all who signed it, and mail a copy of it to ALL of your State and National elected officials (Representatives and Senators)
Retain copies for your own records, or to send to media
Hope this helps.

Being that you are only 13, you need to go educate yourself on America's freedoms and why we fight to protect what we value most - our freedom. Why do you think these freedoms are ours to enjoy to this very day? You have to fight to be free. Or else you could go live in another country where you can be told how you are to dress, what you are allowed to say and do. Being 13 is young, but it doesn't mean you have to be dumb. Go ask the people who are 90 years old what they think about their freedom from WWI and WW2. If you are not 18, you personally can't do much in regards to voting and petitioning. You can; however, speak to those who are of age. There is a reason you have to be older and that is to be able to make an educated decision - school teaches history, economics, and about government - according to the agenda.

I want our troops how as much as anyone else, but I have 3 serving at this time and would be ashamed to ask them to come home before the job is done... They will come home when the job is done, in the mean time we all need to keep them and their families in our prayers...God bless the troops and the families as well as America...

When the job is complete and that country is stable. Yes, by all means, bring them home. Please understand, when we demanded that our troops leave Vietnam -- before the job was finished, that country fell and anyone who was even suspected of having helped us, was tortured and or put to death. Millions were sent to "reeducation camps." Let's not be responsible for the death of a few million because we found it to be an inconvenience. In the battle for Iwo Jima in WW II, we lost 6,821 men in just 36 days. Under 4,000 in over 4 years. I'd say we're REALLY doing well.

I want them home & safe but not until the job at hand is finished & I know that's what they want too. Don't try & go around & make a petition that's going to force them home when they want to finish what started. Don't do what you want or what the civilians want in this country; do what the troops want you to do for them by asking them. I bet not one of them will want to go home & leave a job unfinished just to please people who worry about them. It's a nice gesture but it's a selfish gesture for the people not the troops. They need our support, not use forcing them home just please us.

communicate approximately an emotionally charged barrage of questions... i don't think of maximum troops decide directly to be deployed a typical time, not to show a 2nd or 0.33. although, they verify in for the provider nicely conscious of the reality that they are signing as much as be deployed. Do they decide directly to circulate to a warm, grimy, scent **** hollow interior the middle East for relaxing? No. yet they have their motives. As for conflict, i think of maximum folk would agree that for the period of an perfect international, conflict does not exist. that's not an perfect international, even with the incontrovertible fact that, and there have continuously been and could continuously be armed conflicts, regrettably. with a bit of luck, we will not circulate to conflict with Iran, yet Israel does not decide on them to have nukes. even with no remember if it incredibly is morally precise or no remember if Iran is on the component of having nuclear weapons, in actual actuality that Israel won't enable them to certainly get them. precise or incorrect, it extremely is what it extremely is, and the USA is on Israel's area.
