I believe angels are servants of God. And my understanding of the nature of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost, is that they are three separate individuals all basically on the same team, called God. The question is, "what makes these three individuals' relationship with each other different from the rest of God's servants' relationship with them?"
I believe it is safe to assume there is a difference in those relationships, and so I think that the servants of God are separate from God, even though their purpose is to help accomplish the work and glory of God - which I beleive is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man, his children.
Looking at the relationship of the Son and the Father, one can conclude that they are one in purpose. But it apparently is more than that, as the servants of God, which include angels as well as others, are also one in purpose in fulfilling the will and measures of God.

They are created beings, but unlike us they were not created in the image and likeness of God. Some angels are with God and some are not.
